While it may not be the most widely celebrated holiday of the calendar year, Groundhog Day (Feb. 2) is a tradition that dates back to 1887 and is a fun way to add some excitement to your lil one's week. Check out these seven sweet treats to celebrate the coming Spring (or extension of Winter).

Originally a German holiday, the first American reference to Groundhog Day was in 1841 via a diary entry noting the big job the little guy has of determining whether we will soon be basking in the budding spring or bundling up for another six weeks of Winter. I'm a little bit wary of "watch/read/listen to this before you die" lists, because I don't know if I totally get the point. Movie lists in particular seem to focus on really good, classic movies, but why not have a little fun, too? What about the so-bad-it's-good movies that are worth seeing — like, say, Center Stage? (I love that movie.)
The good folks at Yahoo! are the latest to tackle this challenge, pulling together 100 movies to see before you die, defined as such:
To choose the titles for the list, we considered factors like historical importance and cultural impact. But we also selected films that we believe are the most thrilling, most dramatic, scariest, and funniest movies of all time."
This list is fairly comprehensive and includes a wide range of titles like Citizen Kane, Groundhog Day, and Roman Holiday. There are some titles I'm impressed made it on their list (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) and some omissions that boggle my mind (Wall-E!).
But there are always movies, both big and small, that get overlooked on lists like these, and so I'm wondering: If you could suggest one single movie that people should see before they die, what would it be?

On this winter morning, the renowned groundhog Punxsutawney Phil announced his annual weather forecast.
The lil groundhog proclaimed, "As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me. Six more weeks of winter it will be!"
So keep your babies bundled up and their snug toppers close. Spring is still coming – just not so close.

We posted these adorable groundhog cupcakes last year, but I completely forgot about them until right now! While you wait to see if good ol' Phil sees his shadow — it happens tomorrow — why don't you whip up one of these cute Groundhog Day cupcakes?
Start with your favorite cupcake recipe, (or use Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Cupcakes) stick a chocolate candy bar (my suggestion: a mini twix) upright in the baked and cooled cupcake. Spread your favorite frosting to hold the candy in place. To make the groundhog's eyes and tooth, cut a tiny piece of white jelly bean and glue into place with frosting. Dot with black decorators gel or melted chocolate. Cut a triangle noise from a watermelon-shaped sour candy and use mini brown M&Ms for adorable itsy-bitsy edible ears and cheeks. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumb "dirt" around the groundhog.
