Yesterday I wrote about the appetizers and several of the side dishes for a 4th of July Barbeque. Today it's time to move onto the classic main course portion of the same menu. Serve guests finger licking good barbequed ribs and grilled corn on the cob with herb butter to pair with a caprese salad and thick cut grilled french fries. Finish the meal with a stunning, cool red white and blue dessert in the form of make ahead ice cream sundaes. Scoop the ice cream in sundae dishes before the barbeque and allow guests to finish them off with their own toppings. To take a look at these perfect 4th of July recipes, read more

Last week YumSugar and I got into a heated discussion about candy thermometers. We both have candy thermometers that we use but are totally disappointed with. I've purchased several of the same one and it breaks every time I use it. YumSugar's thermometer isn't specifically for candy and lacks a fixture to clamp it to the side of the pot. So I asked you to help us out and find the most efficient candy thermometers. I told you it had to be a reliable gadget that actually works. You saved your candy thermometers in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Candy Thermometer.
The thermometer that gets me the most excited to make caramel is this digital one found by daddio49. Battery operated and easily attachable to a pot, it can be set for a specific sugar or deep frying temperature. Once the desired temperature is reached, it flashes and beeps-this is a candy thermometer that would make geeksugar proud. Take a look at all of the tools you found by scrolling through the list below.

Conceptual designer Adrian Rovero has come up with a new line of pasta called Sedie. At first glance you're reminded of old-school Campbell's alphabet soup, or maybe even slightly more grown-up, wagon wheels. However, upon closer inspection you'll see that they're actually little chairs! The pasta is extruded from the machine and are formed into little chairs. Just don't sit on them, okay? Something tells me they're not quite sturdy enough.
Enchiladas, the quintessential Tex-Mex main, are a great dish because they feed a crowd. Shredded chicken, melty cheese, gooey sauce, and soft tortillas: what's not to love about them? Excellent for entertaining, it's easy to create an entire Mexican themed meal around enchiladas. Enchiladas are like lasagna in that they have so many steps - poaching chicken, simmering the sauce, assembling the tortillas - and can seem like a huge project to make. However, they are quickly and simply put together by even the most beginner of cooks. If you have the time and skills, it's incredibly rewarding to go through the whole process with both the chicken and homemade sauce. Whichever way you make them, you should master enchiladas - so get the recipe that suits your level of cooking - read more
