On this week's Hell's Kitchen, Louross — the self proclaimed "little Filipino kid who no listens to" — was asked to hang his chef's coat and leave the competition. I was bummed to see Louross go, but looked forward to speaking with the quick chef. Yesterday morning we chatted about Ramsay, Jen, and everything in between. Refrigerated pizza dough is a great item to always have on hand. You can make instant pies with leftovers or even use the dough to make an entirely different dish. This recipe takes pizza dough and turns it into a tart crust. The crust is filled with a mashed potato, leek, and cheese mixture before being baked in a hot oven. The final result is a tart that is quick, scrumptious, and filling. This dish would also make a delicious addition to an informal brunch. After spending the long weekend running around planning the Sex and the City screening after party, I decided to treat myself to a delicious dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. Most of my friends were out of town, so I went alone. I have no problem with eating dinner by myself, but was wondering how you feel about it, do you ever dine alone?
Earlier this week we paid tribute to the food trends established by the series Sex and the City. Before the show, brunch had never seemed so glamorous and the only thing served in a martini glass was a martini. Like the series, the movie will most likely change the way we eat and drink. To see what I mean — I've got a sneak peek of food moments from the film — just click the "Start" button.

After last night's Top Chef we are finally down to the final four. However before we can head to Puerto Rico, we have to chat about the final elimination. Unlike some of the previous challenges, I was really excited to see the chefs in the kitchen. Watching them work in their natural environment was refreshing and fun, and seeing Chef Tom come help them was also exciting. So what did you think of it? Find out what I have to ask when you read more
Most people know that red wine pairs amazingly with dark chocolate. However, the folks at Trentadue Winery have taken the amazing combo one step further. Their Chocolate Amore ($25) combines red wine with chocolate and is really the best of both worlds. Trentadue uses the traditional port-making technique but stops fermentation in order to trap more sugar. Once the wine is done aging, the winery adds a bit of chocolate extract to enhance the flavor. It's rich and decadent and goes well over vanilla ice cream. But be warned: It's not meant to be guzzled by the glass — I think you'd end up in a dessert coma — but is meant to be enjoyed sparingly.
So tell me, are you interested in trying this wine? Have you ever had a chocolate-infused wine before?
Couscous is a staple common to North African cuisine. Instead of serving it as a savory part of my dinner menu, I decided to use it to make a sweet dessert. Most people have had rice or bread pudding, but the majority of my guests have yet to experience couscous pudding.
This variation is made with fluffy whipped cream, sautéed bananas, and fresh pineapple. This type of dessert is ideal for a dinner party because it can be made well in advance. To take a look at the recipe, read more
This soup ends up being a good source of three blood pressure-lowering minerals since the milk adds calcium and the potatoes deliver a dose of potassium, as well as magnesium.
