When I moved out of my parents' house, one of the kitchen gadgets I missed the most was their salad spinner. Last Friday I grabbed my camera and headed down to the Google campus — home to more than 4000 Google employees — in Mountain View. Before chatting with chef Eric Dela Cruz, my Google girlfriend and I took a whirlwind tour of 7 of the 17 cafés during their two hour lunchtime. I tried to get a free Jamba Juice yesterday, but when I got there, the line was ridiculously long. At that point I decided that the free $4 drink wasn't worth the wait and went back to my desk. A lot of the folks at the Sugar HQ were also complaining about how long the line was, however I know several people who did end up waiting in line. Paella — Spain's most well known rice dish — is not necessarily a great option for a quick and simple dinner. However, using couscous instead of rice cuts the cook time in half without reducing the flavor or integrity of the dish. There is a lot of chopping and sautéing in the traditional version, but this couscous variation comes together rapidly with minimal chopping. Smoky kielbasa provides heat, and cherry tomatoes add freshness.
