Finnish design group Lasistudio has repurposed glass bottles and jars by turning them into drinking glasses. The cleverly titled HIK! glasses (about $79 for a set of 4) come in brown and green, and in packs of 2, 4, 6 and 12. I think they're rather nice, and appropriate for Earth Day. How about you? Would these find a way into your home?
Happy Earth Day! Whether you plant a garden, or whip up an eco-friendly meal, I hope you have a good one. To celebrate the day, I thought I'd see how much you know about Earth Day. The fruit looks a lot like a soft lychee; however, the inside is a solid fruit with a deep reddish hue, similar to a pomegranate. Naturally, since everyone is on the antioxidant train, a company has come out selling the juice of the yumberries. In China the Yumberry Juice company sells everything from syrup to sparkling juice, but in the US they're currently only offering several variations of juice. Recently I picked up a bottle of their Yumberry with the Blues mixture and gave it a try. To find out how it is, read more

A couple of weeks ago I planned an engagement party for my friend Elena, and this week, the saga continues with her wedding. During the process, I'll feature my tips and ideas on how to host a fabulous wedding, so interpret them to your own liking. Elena and her fiancé are hosting a destination wedding in Lake Tahoe. Both the ceremony and reception will take place at a friend's house that overlooks the lake. The wedding isn't until October '09, so we have plenty of time to make and send the invitations. Elena's colors are orange and fuchsia with wood and khaki accents. To see how I made these earthy, elegant invites, read more
Passover began this weekend and one of the important customs is a Seder dinner. Whether it's a traditional or modern soirée, most people will want to include a Seder plate. The Seder plate holds seven symbolic items that retell the story of the Exodus. To help everyone find the perfect plate, you headed off to market. You looked for a spectacular Seder plate and bookmarked your finds in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Seder Plate. The colorful star plate seen here is recommended by sonnabobble.
