One of the most fun things to add to your wedding registry is kitchen gadgets! From microwave ovens to coffee bean grinders, no kitchen is complete without a few gizmos. When choosing your registry items, be sure to look through your items first. If you already have a state-of-the-art mixer, then there's no need to register for another. If you never drink coffee, why bother with an espresso machine? Also, take note of which of your items you want to replace, and the colors you'll want to get.
A couple of years ago I was at a crowded party in desperate need of a bottle opener. I laughed when some guy offered to open my beer with his flip flop sandal. However, much to my amazement, he could! His sandal was equipped with a standard bottle opener embedded in the sole.
Recently Reef — the creators of the bottle opener flip flop —released the flask flip flop. Nestled in the sole of this marvel is a fun, little flask. I think these sandals are a wonderful gift for a whiskey-drinking, flip-flop wearer. What do you think of them?
Chicken Cacciatore is Italian-American comfort food at its best. In this classic dish, chicken is slow cooked in a fragrant tomato sauce, with mushrooms and onions, until it falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. While chicken cacciatore is a regular on Italian restaurants menus, it can easily be made in the comfort of your own home.
It's a versatile dish that is delicious over rice, pasta, polenta, or potatoes. I browsed tons of recipes in search of one simple and one complex recipe, but both are actually straight forward and uncomplicated. Take a look and decide which one suits your needs as a home cook. Whichever you choose, don't forget the garlic bread on the side! read more
The other day, a friend asked me what were the standard proportions for making a mimosa. While I pour mine with 3/4 Champagne and 1/4 orange juice, I wasn't sure if that was the normal ratio. I asked her to wait a second while I checked YumSugar.com. I went looking for our mimosa recipe and was shocked to see that we've never written about a mimosa before! How this classic brunch cocktail slipped through the cracks is beyond me — I enjoy mimosas on a weekly basis!
For the best mimosas, use fresh squeezed orange juice and a cheap but good sparkling wine. To look at the recipe, read more

Even if you're not sitting side by side, leaning in close to eat off the same plate can bring a different kind of intimacy to the evening. Do tell, how do you feel about sharing dishes while on a date?
