7-Eleven's Newest Plug? Wine

Two Buck Chuck better watch its back — it's about to face some stiff competition.

Two Buck Chuck better watch its back — it's about to face some stiff competition. On Tuesday, 7-Eleven announced its plans to release value wines in the United States and Japan.

7-Eleven will launch two proprietary California wines — a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon — to roughly 15,000 outlets under the Yosemite Road label. They will each retail for $3.99.

The Chardonnay is described as having notes of apricot and peach, while the Cabernet will have "juicy plum overtones." So if you're missing your favorite stone fruits from Summer, perhaps it's about time to reach for some Yosemite Road wine. Would you fork over $4 for convenience-store vino?

Slurpees: Love Them or Hate Them?

Today is the 11th day of the seventh month of the year.

Today is the 11th day of the seventh month of the year. You know what that means? 7-Eleven is giving away free Slurpees! In honor of its 82nd birthday, the convenience store chain is filling up gratis 11.7-ounce drinks.

Slurpees have always been one of my favorite drinks (and hangover cures) and I just might have to get one this afternoon.

How about you? Do you enjoy Slurpees? What is your go-to flavor?

From Alan Wong to 7-Eleven, Here's a Taste of Oahu

While I have been enjoying staycations, it was nice to recently have a real vacation in Oahu! Sure the beaches are outstanding, but the food is even better. The Hawaiian islands have experienced a bit of a food revolution: Gone are the days when everything was shipped from the mainland. Now the islands make use of their own resources from both the land and sea. The results are wildly delicious. Here, you'll find a taste of my favorites.

Weight Watchers Products to Hit 7-Eleven

Here's some good news for anyone who is a big fan of Weight Watchers: Weight Watchers is going to launch a line of snack cakes and muffins in 7-Eleven convenience stores across the United States.

Here's some good news for anyone who is a big fan of Weight Watchers: Weight Watchers is going to launch a line of snack cakes and muffins in 7-Eleven convenience stores across the United States. Aside from online and at actual Weight Watchers stores, the products were only sold at national grocery chains, until now. The addition of the mega-convenience store means that if you follow Weight Watchers, you'll have more accessibility to their products, which makes following the program easier — especially since here in California, 7-Eleven is on every corner.

Free Slurpees on 7/11

Slurpee fans set your reminders!

Slurpee fans set your reminders! Tomorrow all participating 7-Eleven locations will be giving away free 7.11 ounce Slurpees. Why? Because July 11th (aka 7/11) is the convenience store's official birthday and they want you to help them celebrate. Find a store near you - just call to confirm first. As the 7-Eleven rep told me, "most stores will be participating in the main event, but not all of them."

Sure, these cups are smaller than most, but be careful, they'll still give you a brain freeze.

Is Your Local 7-Eleven Now a Kwik-E-Mart?

Did you notice anything different at your local 7-Eleven this weekend?

Did you notice anything different at your local 7-Eleven this weekend? Like perhaps a small Kwik-E-Mart makeover? If so, then your 7-Eleven was one of twelve stores to receive a promotional Simpsons Movie facelift. The facelift included removing the 7-Eleven logo and replacing it with a Kwik-E-Mart one instead. They (and most of the 6,000 North American 7-Elevens) will also offer items previously only seen in the land of Homer and pals, including: Squishees, KrustyOs and Buzz Cola. The craziest part is that unlike most promotional campaigns, this time it's the retailer (7-Eleven), and not the movie studio (Fox) who is picking up the tab - reportedly "somewhere in the single millions." To see if you live near one of the converted stores, check out the Kwik-E-Mart locator.

I personally don't have one that close to me, but I did stop by a 7-Eleven to partake in a Squishee. I opted for a mix of sour watermelon and cherry. What flavor would you have chosen?
