Last weekend I finally made a recipe I've been wanting to make for a year: Food & Wine's strawberry crumb cake. The three-layered treat consists of a bottom of jam-like sweet strawberries, a middle of thick white cake, and a top of buttery crumbs. Alone it makes a devilishly delicious breakfast, but top it with a scoop of ice cream and you've got a dinner party dessert. It doesn't really matter when you serve it, all that matters is that you make this cake! It's a perfect thing to surprise your mom with, because after all, what mom doesn't love strawberries?
