Slussen: Urbanears' "Afterparty Weapon" For Mobile DJs

During this year's CES, Urbanears presented Slussen, a small stereo-to-headphones adapter that the audio company is dubbing an "app-cessory." The sound adapter takes a plug from a sound system and from headphones and plugs into an iPhone, on which mobile DJs can mix and preview tunes through the headphones on an app.

The prelistening feature is great for adding fade and equalization, while keeping the party (or afterparty) rocking. At a reasonably priced $15, Slussen might be a new must have for traveling DJs. The adapter has a minimal and clean design — and we'd expect no less from Urbanears, whose line of headphones is known for its brightly colored simplicity.

The free Slussen App will be available for download through the App Store, and the accessory is set for a Feb. 1, 2013, launch date.

We briefly heard about House of Marley when news of its new iPhone boombox hit earlier this week, but after stopping by its booth this morning at CES, we had a chance to check out its entire awesome line.

House of Marley was created by the family of Bob Marley and in conjunction with HoMedics has released a complete line of eco-friendly products embodying the spirit and values of Bob Marley. The collection is made up of three lines, Jammin', Freedom, and Destiny, with earbuds, headphones, docking stations, speakers, and boomboxes. Jammin' aims to bring the joyful spirit of Jamaican life to sound products, with earbuds, headphones, speakers, and speaker bags. Freedom's earbuds, headphones, and speakers deliver a more high-end audio experience, and the Destiny earbuds and headphones offer professional-quality sound.

Small Talk with Ilan Hall

Last week our very own FabSugar had the opportunity to chat with Top Chef Season Two winner, Ilan Hall.

Last week our very own FabSugar had the opportunity to chat with Top Chef Season Two winner, Ilan Hall. They were both backstage at the Cynthia Rowley Spring 2008 show — Fab reporting on the looks, and Ilan feeding the masses. Luckily for us, they were both able to take a few minutes from their jobs and provide us with a fun interview.

FabSugar: What did you have for breakfast?
Ilan Hall: I think I had baked chicken skin.

FS: Baked chicken skin?
IH: Yeah, because it's part of one of the dishes, and so I was just tasting it. That's what I got full on.

FS: Any juice or coffee?
IH: I had coffee, lots of coffee.

FS: A successful party is ....
IH: One that you get woken up from on the floor... I don't know.

FS: What's your guilty pleasure food?
IH: Pork skin.

FS: All of the skins!
IH: I know, I know, I've got a fetish.
