Whether August means gearing up for the classroom, or the return to pre-holidays focus at the office, the next 31 days always seem to zoom by in a flash. Make the most of the final moments of Summer by orchestrating sensible budget, life, and career choices, but don't forget to have a little fun. Here are my tips for an amazing August.
Don't let the sun set on Summer before you've had a chance to hit the beach! Many families enjoy the sand and surf during the day but end the season with an after-hours activity that will be memorable for your children — a bonfire! We've rounded up a few of Lil's favorite things to make the event easy on mom and fun for the youngsters. Check out our must haves!
Isn't it crazy that August is already here? The first half of the year and Summer flew by! To make the most of the warm days that lie ahead, we plan on doing lots grilling and chilling in the great outdoors. But before we get the barbecue going, we'd like to share a few of our favorite things with you. Thus, without further adieu, here are our current culinary obsessions.
Setting goals for the whole year or season can be overwhelming, but I find it's productive to make a list of week-by-week or monthly goals of items you want to accomplish.
I have houseguests coming to visit for the last week of the month so I'm spending the next few weeks on small home repairs, planning our meals, and budgeting for lots of fun. And of course, working nine to five — and beyond — and learning from all you Savvy peeps.
What is your main objective for the month? Share your goals, dreams, and plans here!
Shake the sand out of your shoes and get ready for some back to school shopping! We've rounded up our favorite items that will help get you and your kiddos prepped before the bell rings! Whether it's your children's first year of classes or they are getting ready to graduate, lilsugar will be celebrating School Year's Resolutions all month long! Stay tuned for a fabulous giveaway!
It seems like June was just yesterday, but I blinked, and suddenly it's August! Since the first half of Summer flew by, I've resolved to relish the rest of it with more cookouts and get-togethers featuring my favorite warm-weather foods. To help max out the month, I'll be sure to have a few indispensable items within arm's reach. Keep reading to find out which items I can't live without right now.

The dog days of Summer are upon us, and August is an exciting month this year. Not only is it a time for Summer vacations, but both the Beijing Olympics and Slow Food Nation are happening. Here's my list of everything you need to survive (and celebrate!) August in the most fabulous foodie style.
The Virgin Suicides costars Josh Hartnett and Kirsten Dunst reunited on the red carpet last night for a screening of Josh's new movie, August, in NYC last night. The duo laughed it up with Susan Sarandon at the after party. Even despite his still kinda scraggly facial hair, Josh Hartnett managed to look cute on the red carpet with Kirsten. While these two young stars are a) hip and b) known to play the field, they're both single and look pretty perfect standing side by side, just saying.
