Taste-Off! Burger King vs. McDonald's Chicken Nuggets

"Crispy. Tender. New," the Burger King website declares of its latest menu item, BK Chicken Tenders.

"Crispy. Tender. New," the Burger King website declares of its latest menu item, BK Chicken Tenders. Funny: they might've been new on the BK lineup, but we could've sworn we'd seen them somewhere. Oh, right, on the menu at every McDonald's worldwide for the last three decades as Chicken McNuggets.

Much like the BK Breakfast Muffin was to the McDonald's Sausage McMuffin, the BK Chicken Tenders are near-carbon copies of their Golden Arched counterparts. (When asked to comment, Burger King remarked, "We don't provide details on our secret recipe.")

McDonald's sells its nuggets in packages of four, six, and 10; Burger King's are available in boxes of four, eight, and 20. In our taste test, we learned that just about everything, right down to the packaging, is identical — except, we discovered, with regards to taste. Update: There's more to chicken nuggets than meets the consumer's eye! CNN is now reporting that McDonald's chicken nuggets are made with a Silly Putty chemical. Are you still going to take your kids to the Golden Arches?

Even The Doctors are joining Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. On today's show, the British chef and the team of medical experts discussed how fatty and poor quality foods affect people's health. There are over 30 diseases associated with obesity, which is a direct result of the foods we eat and our lifestyles. In case you missed it when it originally aired, watch Jamie's demonstration of how some chicken nuggets are made before you reach into the freezer to bake up a quick dinner or take a spin through the drive-through. Dr. Jim Sears urged parents to read ingredients and look for whole white meat. Would you still serve your children processed food, or will you join Jamie's revolution?

But Won't Your Soda Get Warm?!?

Most of the time I love living here in San Francisco, but occasionally, something pops up that makes me wonder why oh why I don't live somewhere else.

Most of the time I love living here in San Francisco, but occasionally, something pops up that makes me wonder why oh why I don't live somewhere else. Usually it's food related, and this time it's the Col-Pop. The Col-Pop is South Korean based BBQ Chicken's new gizmo that combines a drink container with a food container. Col-Pop could seriously take over the world, but right now they are available on the US East Coast only. Our friends at Serious Eats got to check it out and even made a video and a chart. Love McNuggets? Thank The People Of Knoxville

If you love McDonald's chicken nuggets and are looking for someone to hate for your unhealthy addiction, don't blame the employees of McDonalds.

If you love McDonald's chicken nuggets and are looking for someone to hate for your unhealthy addiction, don't blame the employees of McDonalds. Instead point a finger to the residents of Knoxville, Tennessee. Before chicken nuggets made their debut at McDonald's in 1983 (I'm older than the chicken nugget, who knew?) Ronald and his crew had to test market the bites of fried goodness and they chose Knoxville as the lucky city to evaluate their popularity. On today's date, 27 years ago, the chicken nugget was first offered in Knoxville's McDonalds. They were such a hit Ronald and co. had to quickly look for a secondary supplier of "chicken" (how much real chicken goes into producing the nuggets?). The rest of the story is, of course, history as McDonald's has made chicken nuggets one of America's most well liked finger foods.
