Today, ABC announced that The Chew, its new daytime lifestyle show, will air live beginning Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. EDT. The series, which replaces the soap opera All My Children, will feature an eclectic mix of hosts, including Italian cooking icon Mario Batali, Iron Chef Michael Symon, Top Cheftestant Carla Hall, entertaining expert Clinton Kelly, and healthy cookbook author (and Dr. Oz progeny) Daphne Oz.

The show will offer everything from "cooking and home entertaining to food trends, restaurants, holidays, and more," the release reveals. Based on the trailer, it appears to offer plenty of flashy smiles and overly enthusiastic camaraderie. In the video, Daphne adds, "It's all about food, but it's about dishing, really." And, according to Mario, pop culture, music, and family, too. Check out the trailer below. Does The Chew look exciting to you?

Last Summer, the Food Network debuted its first series devoted to the food truck craze, The Great Food Truck Race, a reality competition hosted by Tyler Florence. Today, the network announced that the show will be back for a second season premiering on Aug. 14 at 10 p.m.

Eight food trucks from across the country will compete in a "coast-to-coast culinary road trip" through cities like Denver, Memphis, and Atlanta. Although the Food Network hasn't released an official list of the participating food trucks, our friends at Eater have some guesses.

Oliver's Food Revolution Pulled From ABC

Jamie Oliver has not had much good luck as of late.

Jamie Oliver has not had much good luck as of late. He ran into all sorts of difficulties when shooting the second season of Food Revolution in Los Angeles, and now it's been pulled from its regular Tuesday night time slot.

The show, which premiered on April 12, didn't get high enough ratings, so ABC has removed it from the schedule. However, the network plans on airing the remaining episodes on Friday nights starting June 3.

Although I caught the premiere episode, I haven't been watching it each week.

Although it's barely been six months since Marc Forgione was named winner of the Next Iron Chef, the Food Network has already announced the cast of the next round of competitors — and it's more star-studded than ever!

Instead of featuring established restaurant chefs hoping to increase their profiles, the participants consist of well-known Food Network stars and Top Cheffers like Michael Chiarello, Anne Burrell, and Spike Mendelsohn. Even Top Chef Masters winner Marcus Samuelsson is getting competitive.

To see the complete list of chefs who will duke it out to win the title of Iron Chef come Oct. 30, keep reading.

Do You Watch Food Network on Weekend Mornings?

My favorite time to watch the Food Network is on weekend mornings.

My favorite time to watch the Food Network is on weekend mornings. With programs like Giada at Home, 5 Ingredient Fix, and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, it's when new episodes of their "In the Kitchen" series air. I much prefer this style of cooking show over the reality, competition, and travel shows that air at night on the network. Thus, everyday Saturday and Sunday, when I'm home I like to tune in. What Did You Think of Sunday's Food TV Lineup?

Last night saw the debut of two much-hyped-about food television shows: Bobby Flay's America's Next Great Restaurant on NBC and Chopped All-Stars on Food Network.

Last night saw the debut of two much-hyped-about food television shows: Bobby Flay's America's Next Great Restaurant on NBC and Chopped All-Stars on Food Network. I watched both and found them to be overall entertaining. At a time when the fast-food industry has been under scrutiny, it's interesting that mega chefs Flay and Curtis Stone are investing in a chain eatery.

Over on Chopped, it was fun to see the Next Food Network Star contestants again. I forgot how much I liked Lisa Garza, and despite the fact that she didn't complete the challenge, I was rooting for her to get past the first round. Did you watch either of the new shows? Share your thoughts below!

Do You Get the Cooking Channel?

If you regularly tune into the Food Network, you'll be familiar with the Cooking Channel, the network's sister channel that was launched last May.

If you regularly tune into the Food Network, you'll be familiar with the Cooking Channel, the network's sister channel that was launched last May. Commercials for the newer channel air on the Food Network, and the shows seem interesting and exciting. However, many people I've talked to say the Cooking Channel isn't a part of their cable package. Unfortunately, I don't get it either. How about you?

Food Network Wages a 24-Hour Restaurant Battle

If "Restaurant Wars" is always your favorite episode of Top Chef, then Food Network wants you to pick its battle next.

If "Restaurant Wars" is always your favorite episode of Top Chef, then Food Network wants you to pick its battle next. Premiering July 21 at 10 p.m. EST, with a special sneak peek July 18, 24-Hour Restaurant Battle pits two teams of aspiring restaurateurs against each other in a race to open an eatery in just one day. Diners and judges will decide whose formula has the most potential, with the winners taking home the funds to fully realize their dream. Just watching the trailer is stressing me out, which is probably a sign of a good show. Here's a preview:

With sometime Top Chef judge Scott Conant hosting, and Top Chef Masters winner Marcus Samuelsson weighing in as a judge, 24-Hour Restaurant Battle seems like it's taking a stab at the Bravo show's success. Though we've been hearing more about the Food Network's new sister channel lately, I'm glad to see the flagship station serving up some new, creative fare too. Do you think you'll check it out?

Do You Enjoy Amateur Cooking Competitions on TV?

The other night I turned on the Food Network to find yet another Food Network Challenge with some random chefs facing off for a money prize.

The other night I turned on the Food Network to find yet another Food Network Challenge with some random chefs facing off for a money prize. While I enjoy reality culinary competitions like the Next Food Network Star or Top Chef, I'm just not interested in watching no-name amateur chefs run around trying to create something. I prefer to watch a professional or celebrity chef in a more educational program. How about you?
