School's back in session, and it's got us reminiscing about school crushes and unrequited first loves. While it was easy to fall for the star football player or class clown, the guys who really got us swooning back in the day were the shy geeks — or those hot, young substitute teachers — who always had their noses in a book. This is probably why the crisp arrival of Fall makes sexy guys in specs all the more appealing.

Whether they're sporting a sleek red-carpet suit or a casual, laid-back ensemble, these famous men know how to make glasses suit their styles. Hot stars like Jon Hamm and Matt Bomer channel a smart vibe with their four-eyed looks, and even sporty fellas like Ryan Lochte show their studiously sexy side with specs. It's the perfect time of the year to go pastel pink.

It's the perfect time of the year to go pastel pink. Don't let your Valentine's Day party decorations or front door have all the fun — embellish your tabletop with some inspired pink pieces as well.

For a subtle blush of pink, start with the Rosanna Classique Glass in Pink ($55 for a set of 4, top row, left). Created from vintage molds from the early 20th century, they'd be perfect for showcasing a Valentine's Day punch for a stay-at-home romantic dinner.

Add a soft glow to your table with the Floral Hurricane Candleholder ($5, middle row, left). Don't have time to grab a bouquet for your table? The frosted floral detailing on this candleholder can serve as a stand-in for fresh blooms.

For a romantic country touch, set the table with these Azalea Spring Toile Napkins ($5 each, bottom row, left). Perfectly pretty, these floral toile napkins are machine washable, so you can use them for everyday as well as special occasions.

Get the Look of Famous Four-Eyed Geeks

Geeky glasses are becoming a hot trend, especially big 80s style plastic lenses.

Geeky glasses are becoming a hot trend, especially big 80s style plastic lenses. Here's a quick shout out to geeky celebs we love who were sporting the four-eyed look way before it became cool. Clark Kent, Rivers Cuomo, and Zooey Deschanel sport the classic horn-rimmed eyeglasses that were popular back in the 1910s to 20s. In retro 80s fashion, Michael Cera pulls off semi-square clear frames. Liz Lemon makes 60s cat eye glasses look sassy. Anne Hathaway glams square oversized tortoise shell glasses. Whether you're looking for a new pair or want to look gooberish on purpose, browse through our geek-certified collection. From left to right: Brandon Routh as Clark Kent, Michael Cera, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Zooey Deschanel as Jessica Day, Tina Fay as Liz Lemon, and Anne Hathaway.

Gift Your Summer Table With Beautiful Blues

The blues of the ocean and Summer swimming lakes are inspiring me to add a little azure to my tabletop this season.

The blues of the ocean and Summer swimming lakes are inspiring me to add a little azure to my tabletop this season. I've rounded up plenty of pretty options, from affordable glasses and carafes for everyday use to splurges for special occasions.

Perhaps for the most special occasion of all is the glass pictured in the upper left-hand corner. BHLDN's Lapis Toasting Flutes ($198 for a set of two) would add a dramatic touch to a Summer wedding. At 10 inches, these tall, hand-cut flutes are perfect for a wedding toast, and toasting for special dinners or moments over a lifetime. For a more affordable option, invest in Diane von Furstenburg "High Rise" White Wine Glasses Set in Erawan Blue ($60 for a set of four, bottom left). Inspired by the urban skyline, they'd look equally pretty on a country farm.

For iced tea or lemonade, go with a more substantial glass, like the Murano Speckled Tumbler ($28) from Anthropologie, paired with the Ypsilon Glass Carafe Sky Blue by Bormioli Rocco ($12, bottom right). If you're part of a household that includes clumsy spouses or on-the-go kiddos, consider the La Cadeaux Polycarbonate Water Glass ($5, upper left), which is immune to most drops.

Do You Get Your Eyes Checked If You Don't Wear Glasses or Contacts?

Every year I dutifully go see my optometrist to make sure my eyes are healthy, sure, but mostly because I need to renew my contact prescription.

Every year I dutifully go see my optometrist to make sure my eyes are healthy, sure, but mostly because I need to renew my contact prescription. If you're one of the 150 million in the United States who also wear glasses or contacts, you're probably the same.

For the rest of the population, the American Optometric Association recommends getting your eyes checked every two years in order to find any potential problems early. Regular checkups can catch vision disorders like glaucoma and macular degeneration early, as well as detect more general health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure. But I know many people with perfect vision who've barely set foot in an optometrist's office. How about you?
