The blues of the ocean and Summer swimming lakes are inspiring me to add a little azure to my tabletop this season. I've rounded up plenty of pretty options, from affordable glasses and carafes for everyday use to splurges for special occasions.

Perhaps for the most special occasion of all is the glass pictured in the upper left-hand corner. BHLDN's Lapis Toasting Flutes ($198 for a set of two) would add a dramatic touch to a Summer wedding. At 10 inches, these tall, hand-cut flutes are perfect for a wedding toast, and toasting for special dinners or moments over a lifetime. For a more affordable option, invest in Diane von Furstenburg "High Rise" White Wine Glasses Set in Erawan Blue ($60 for a set of four, bottom left). Inspired by the urban skyline, they'd look equally pretty on a country farm.

Every year I dutifully go see my optometrist to make sure my eyes are healthy, sure, but mostly because I need to renew my contact prescription. If you're one of the 150 million in the United States who also wear glasses or contacts, you're probably the same.

For the rest of the population, the American Optometric Association recommends getting your eyes checked every two years in order to find any potential problems early. Regular checkups can catch vision disorders like glaucoma and macular degeneration early, as well as detect more general health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure. But I know many people with perfect vision who've barely set foot in an optometrist's office. How about you?
