Savory Sight: FinnLover's Recipe Adventures

Although, I often draw inspiration from chefs and cookbooks, I get a ton of ideas simply from browsing TeamSugar.

Although, I often draw inspiration from chefs and cookbooks, I get a ton of ideas simply from browsing TeamSugar. I know I'm not alone: Not too long ago, FinnLover wrote about all the reader recipes she's tried over the last several months. Not only did many recipes (like Twinkle's Tomato and Avocado Salsa above) become part of her new cooking repertoire, but making them also sparked her creativity. For instance, after she made Twinkle's recipe for Finnish pancakes, FinnLover combined her leftovers with asparagus, béchamel, Swiss, and ham to make an entirely different dish.

This year, I know that plenty of you have resolved to cook more frequently and explore new techniques and flavors. Don't forget to post them in the Kitchen Goddess group! To see more of FinnLover's tantalizing masterpieces, read more

Your Last Supper...

Over in the Kitchen Goddess Group, Twinkle brought up a really interesting question (one that I'm having a really hard time deciding on).

Over in the Kitchen Goddess Group, Twinkle brought up a really interesting question (one that I'm having a really hard time deciding on). She wanted to know what everyone's last meal would be. I personally can not answer that question. I think my meal would be more of a feast than a single meal. There's too many great things, I'd want to eat them all at once.

So how about you, what would your last meal be? Head over to the Kitchen Goddess and let everyone know - and be sure to check out what other people have said. Or if you're too lazy, just post your answer in the comments below.

Hrmmm... sushi or homemade potstickers? Chocolate chip cookies or a banh mi? Mimosas or a bloody mary? Oh god, I can't decide...

Better Know a Group: Kitchen Goddess

This weekend I was hanging around on TeamSugar and realized that there are a lot of great groups devoted to food, drink and entertaining.

This weekend I was hanging around on TeamSugar and realized that there are a lot of great groups devoted to food, drink and entertaining. So I thought I'd start a series spotlighting each one. Sort of like Stephen Colbert's "Better Know a District" only it's going to be Better Know a Group. Today I thought I'd start with the active group, Kitchen Goddess. Here you can post your own recipes, review your friends' recipes, review your kitchen products and appliances, share your favorite kitchen tips and everything else cooking related. There are definitely some lively team members and some great recipes, so be sure to check out Kitchen Goddess. And while you're there, don't forget to join and start posting your own tales of kitchen goddess creations - (kitchen gods welcome too!).

Be sure to come back and see the rest of the groups in this Better Know a Group series!
