When I think of the Super Bowl, only one cocktail comes to mind: the margarita. While I've never met a margarita I didn't like, from beer to blackberry to jalapeño, my current obsession is with blood orange margaritas. Blood oranges are in season, and they give the drink a beautiful vibrant color and lovely tart flavor. I prefer my margaritas straight up or on the rocks, but if you enjoy them blended, feel free to toss the ingredients into a blender with ice. Pair with a plate of spicy chorizo nachos and let the weekend begin! Here's the recipe.
Come Party With Me: Super Bowl — Drinks

Hosting a Super Bowl bash this weekend? Stock up on your favorite beer. It's the beverage of choice for watching a football game, and you can use it to make this recipe for the ultimate margarita! Yes, you heard me: this pitcher margarita has two secret ingredients, and one of them is beer. The second one is frozen limeade concentrate. Using the concentrate means that you won't have to juice a million limes. It's an easy recipe that serves a crowd and can be enjoyed blended or on the rocks. Check out the technique now.
Make It a Morning Workout on Cinco de Mayo
There's nothing quite like lounging with some pals after a long day of work, sipping margaritas and dipping chips in guacamole. It's not healthy to indulge like that every night, but Cinco de Mayo gives me an excuse to put a little ole into my evening. Because I'll be heading from the office to a fiesta, I'm going to set my alarm earlier tomorrow morning to make sure I work out.
It's tempting to adopt an all or nothing attitude whenever there's a holiday that encourages indulgence. Instead of resigning to more unhealthy habits just because you'll be indulging during dinner, use your morning workout to feel better about your splurges. You'll be able to enjoy them more without the added guilt of skipping your workout.

Happy Hour: Watermelon Margarita
If you haven't used watermelon to make a cool cocktail (or icy popsicle!), I highly recommend you do so soon. Summer is the perfect time for watermelon cocktails because the melons are insanely ripe and deliciously sweet.
While you could use a margarita mix, it doesn't take that long to puree fresh melon in a blender. I prefer my margaritas on the rocks, but if you like yours smooth, feel free to blitz all of the ingredients to make a frozen cocktail.
This was a refreshingly divine cocktail, so get the recipe now and read more
In Honor of Cinco de Mayo: Margarita vs. Mexican Beer
Cinco de Mayo has finally arrived! You may be in the mood to celebrate with a cold beverage today. How do you choose between a margarita and a Mexican beer with a squeeze of lime? Quite possibly knowing the caloric content of each drink would help you decide. Take this short quiz to see how these two faves stack up against each other.

Happy Hour: Jell-O Shots Three Ways
I seriously thought I'd make it out of my 20s without ever having made Jell-O shots. However, sometimes a party calls for a little extra fun.
Last week I was pulled aside and asked if I could make 60 Jell-O shots by the next day. Being YumSugar, I said sure thing, no problem; it wasn't until later that I went into panic mode. Jell-O shots? Seriously? How do I make them? What's the correct ratio? What do I serve them in? After a few minutes on Google, the panic went away, and soon I had several unpredictable flavors and a clever serving tip. So I bought my supplies, spent an hour in the kitchen, and the next day there were Jell-O shots in three flavors: margarita, classic cherry, and spiked tropical punch.
If you've always wanted to try Jell-O shots, get my recipes and tips on how to serve when you read more
Cool or Not: Fit-a-Rita?
Fit-a-Rita is a sugar-free, instant margarita mix with added minerals, vitamins and herbal extracts designed to buffer the toxic effects of alcohol. The average margarita has over 200 calories, while a Fit-a-Rita margarita has just six calories (without tequila of course - it markets better that way). No sugar. No carbs. And it contains as much anti-oxidants as two glasses of red wine. Interested? Visit Fit-A-Rita.com to order it for yourself.
In theory, I like the idea. However, when it comes down to it if I am going to splurge on a margarita, I am going to splurge on a real margarita. Though I will say I have not tried it, and it could be wonderful, though I am skeptical. What do you guys think? Does the Fit-a-Rita fit your idea of a good time?
