Off to Market Recap: Saute Pan

When I moved into my current apartment, my parents gave me an assortment of old pans.

When I moved into my current apartment, my parents gave me an assortment of old pans. Although I love and use these pans, I don't own a very good saute pan, and it's affecting my confidence level as a home cook. To boost my culinary self esteem, I asked you to help me find a new saute pan. You headed off to market in search of large, durable pans in an assortment of colors and styles. You saved the pans in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Saute Pan.

This All-Clad 3-quart saute pan that mellie_608 found is just what I'm looking for! It's specially designed so heat spreads quickly and evenly. For more saute pans, please peruse the collection below.

Planning a family-friendly fete this Valentine's Day? Consider serving up extra love with your presentation. Heart-shaped pans, cookie cutters, or dishes are a great addition to any kitchen because they can be used year-round to show your family you heart them.

Once you have selected your simple Valentine's Day dessert project, consider a heart-shaped cupcake pan for extra pizazz. Not making cupcakes? What about a giant heart-shaped cookie pan or Cake Mold and Cookie Cutters ($3 to $10).

Off to Market: Pie Pan

Although pie making is a year round activity, I find myself more particular about pies in the Fall.

Although pie making is a year round activity, I find myself more particular about pies in the Fall. Because they are the sweet accompaniment to holiday dinners, a pie's presentation is incredibly important. A homemade pumpkin meringue pie just doesn't look as special in a disposable, foil pie tin. To ensure that all of our pies are pretty, let's head off to market in search of the perfect pie pan.

Look for decorative, festive pie pans that are also functional and dishwasher safe. Bookmark the pans in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag, Pie Pan. I can't wait to look at your finds!

It seems delicious kid friendly desserts taste even better when they come in the shape of something fun.

It seems delicious kid friendly desserts taste even better when they come in the shape of something fun. The Wilton Giant Cupcake Cast Pan ($30) has become a staple for kid birthdays (much to the pleasure of moms like myself, its popularity coincides with a million great cupcake recipes). Looks like it's time to whip out my Cakes for Kids book!

How To Keep Track of Baking Pans and Cookie Sheets

While putting together the appetizers at a recent potluck, I ended up needing several cookie sheets.

While putting together the appetizers at a recent potluck, I ended up needing several cookie sheets. Some were mine, while others were borrowed. When I finished baking the prosciutto pinwheels, I had a really hard time figuring out which were my three cookie sheets. Next time I attend a potluck — or bring any sort of cooking dish to a party — I'll label my cookie sheets and baking pans.

To ensure that you don't lose or mix-up pans, write your first initial on the bottom of the pan with a black sharpie. If you aren't baking the dish in the oven, put a small piece of masking tape on the bottom and write your initials on the tape.

S-XL Cake Mold: Love It or Hate It?

When I first saw this S-XL baking pan, I thought it was pretty cool.

When I first saw this S-XL baking pan, I thought it was pretty cool. It's a silicone mold that pre shapes any cake into fifteen separate, different sized slices. It allows one person to have a small piece and another to have a large piece. Yet, the more I thought about it, the more I disliked it. It won't really work for any cake; what happens to the indentations when you frost it? Actually, with the uneven layers, can you even frost it? What do you think?

Yum Market Finds: Chickens and Eggs

Which came first: the chicken or the egg?

Which came first: the chicken or the egg? That question will always be debatable, but the role of chickens and eggs in the food world is well-established. Just take a look through our very own Yum Market on TeamSugar, and you can see plenty of poultry-related gadgets and accessories. Take this omelet pan that Amh678 found, for example. It allows you to create a perfect omelet with one easy flip. This unitasking tool is great if you love omelets, but if you prefer your eggs another way, browse the finds below.

Do You Use Cast-Iron Pots and Pans?

I used to be intimated by using cast-iron pans for cooking. But ever since I learned the right way to season and clean them, I've really enjoyed cooking with cast-iron pots and pans. How about you?

Off To Market Recap: Cake Mold

It's my grandfather's birthday this week and I'm in charge of making him a fabulous cake.

It's my grandfather's birthday this week and I'm in charge of making him a fabulous cake. I've never baked with a cake mold, but they're super trendy right now, and I thought it would be fun to experiment. Unfortunately, I don't own a single cake mold so I asked you to help me find one. You searched the web for a dishwasher-safe cake mold with a creative and original shape. You saved them in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag Cake Mold.

Some of the choices are better for little kids, so for my grandfather I'd like to use this fun cascade shaped pan. Aimeeb bookmarked this under $30 pan.

Now that I have the pan, I'll have to figure out how to decorate the cake. This shape lends itself to an endless number of possibilities, does anyone have any suggestions?
