From peppermint patties to peanut butter cups, we love turning store-bought chocolates into homemade treats.

From peppermint patties to peanut butter cups, we love turning store-bought chocolates into homemade treats. A recipe we'd love to see? Ericairis's version of Twix bars.

Homemade Twix Bars

Made these this weekend.  So rich and so yummy.  I'll never look at a store-bought Twix bar the same way again!

Kerri Walsh, two-time gold medalist in pairs beach volleyball, has been guest blogging here at FitSugar and sharing workouts and tips. Today, we learn how to make her fave snack. Kerri was excited to share her favorite cookie recipe with us, since this week's Get Fit For 2011 challenge is to share a recipe.

This simple recipe requires few ingredients and contains no flour! Chocolate is an optional addition — a bonus in my book.

Peanut Butter: Love It or Hate It?

Whether it's sandwiched between two pieces of white bread and grape jelly or oozing out of a melty chocolate shell, peanut butter is one of life's simple pleasures.

Whether it's sandwiched between two pieces of white bread and grape jelly or oozing out of a melty chocolate shell, peanut butter is one of life's simple pleasures. Peanut butter is so delicious, it has its own holiday, which happens to be today: happy National Peanut Butter Day! To celebrate, make peanut butter cookies, pudding, or blondies. But before you do, tell me in the comments, are you a fan of the smooth and creamy (or crunchy!) spread?

PB2: A Creamy Dollop of Euphoria

This post comes from the OnSugar blog Sophie's Sweeties.

This post comes from the OnSugar blog Sophie's Sweeties.

I heard the rumble of the delivery truck as it pulled away from my house. I opened the front door, and there rested a little brown box. So petite and unassuming. My PB2 had arrived! Seriously peeps, get online and order yourself some PB2, too!

It comes in powdered form, and to reconstitute it into a paste you mix two parts powder to one part water (or any liquid of your liking). It tastes just as good as regular peanut butter but has 85 percent fewer fat calories because the peanuts are defatted (two tablespoons of PB2 has 45 cals, 13 from fat. The same amount of a typical peanut butter has about 190 cals, 145 from fat). Try a dollop of PB2 on your oatmeal or mixed into a protein shake. Or add a sprinkle to pad Thai (a lightened up recipe for this dish will be in the works pronto!).

Ahh, at last, I can have my peanut butter and eat it too.

Oatmeal Cookies With a Peanut Butter and Chocolate Twist

I love oatmeal cookies and peanut butter cookies, so I was thrilled to find a recipe that combines the two!

I love oatmeal cookies and peanut butter cookies, so I was thrilled to find a recipe that combines the two! What makes this recipe even more exciting is the addition of chocolate chips; the pairing of peanut butter and chocolate is always divine. These cookies are easy to put together and in less than a hour, you'll have a batch of fresh and scrumptious cookies. I served them with a scoop of ice cream, but a glass milk would be even better. If you love the texture of oatmeal cookies and can never get enough peanut butter and chocolate, keep reading for the recipe.
