Are you thirsty for more 2010 Pre-Fall action? You know I am. This time, heavy hitters such as Alexander Wang, Chanel, Rachel Roy, Narciso Rodriguez, Burberry Prorsum, and Michael Kors showed us what Fall in the new decade means to them. Furry vests, streamlined trenches, cropped pants, and pretty prints were all present to keep us warm and svelte during cold months. This Diane von Furstenberg ensemble is on the top of my list. The moody print dress, draped shawl cardi, and beanie combo captures the very essence of my girlie spirit.
A Pre-Fall Preview: Moschino, Versace, Missoni . . . and Molto More
Are you ready for some Pre-Fall action? The first batch of Pre-Fall '10 is in and it's all courtesy of those talented Italians. Versace, Missoni, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, and Roberto Cavalli's main and Just Cavalli collections are all represented. You'll find lots of knits, furs, feathers, and dark hues but also a few flavorful maxis and minis. My favorite Pre-Fall line so far is Moschino Cheap & Chic (left) — a bit raw, a bit lady, all impeccably styled.

Hello Lover: Proenza Pre Fall On eLuxury
Just when life seemed perfect, eLuxury uped the anti and gave us 15 pieces from Proenza Schouler's pre Fall collection in the middle of June. What's a sample sailing sandal-clad girl supposed to do when these sorts of things happen? Between the Topshop look book and the rich Fall duds from Proenza, we can't help but feel pulled towards Fall clothing. But this isn't supposed to happen until the Spring shows start up in, ahem, September! If you're up for the challenge, and think you can maintain some semblance of The Present while shopping pre-Fall clothing, we've got to hand it to you. These carefully edited pieces will only be available via ecommerce from eLuxury and would, if you swiped the whole thing, make the perfect base for your new Fall wardrobe. For blouses there are two beautifully tailored silk short sleeved numbers and also a pair of wool skinny trousers and leather bomber we'd just about sell our souls for. Okay, maybe not our souls. Maybe just our boyfriends. Ladies, we know it's haute out there but we're kind of feeling like this might be a wise investment.
A Peek at Pre-Fall
The Pre-Fall collections have been quietly underway, but are definitely worth mentioning. They have been gaining more popularity as a preview of what's to come for Fall. Since Fall '08 is right around the bend, here are some observations . . .
Fashion continues to be all about the lady, and no tramp. Grey seems to be the new favorite canvas color, as well as matte black; prints are mixed, poppy, artsy and colorful. Neutrals are gorgeous too. Sleeves are cropped and experimentation with volume brings it to an even more wearable place. Coats, fur, belts and skirt suits are a plenty. Fab favorites: Michael Kors and his Hitchcock babes, Missoni, Louis Vuitton's mismatching, Proenza's body conscious creations and Versace's sharp lines.
