"What's the best thing that you ate?" Everyone keeps asking me this question about the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. While I ate a lot, there are certain stellar dishes that stand out in my mind. From José Andrés's tomato bread to Richard Blais's butterscotch ice cream, here are my favorite bites from the festival.
Inside the Food & Wine Classic Tasting Tents!
While the celebrity chef demos and wine sommelier seminars are some of the things I look forward to at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, there's nothing quite like the tasting tent. Or tents, I should say. Three gigantic tents fill Wagner Park, and inside, you can find everything from orange wine to tasty tacos to top chefs. Here's a glimpse at what I saw earlier today in the tents.
The Best Eats of the Tasting Tent
A highlight of any food festival, including this past weekend's New York City Wine and Food Festival hosted by the Food Network, is the tasting tent. Located on a pier overlooking the river, the long-covered tent was filled with countless things to taste: wine, spirits, chocolate, hot dogs, sandwiches, scallops, and more. After spending several hours in the tent, I don't know what I didn't taste. To get a glimpse of the experience, I've rounded up my favorite bites.
My Top Tastes From SF Chefs
YumSugar wasn't the only one who had a field day eating and drinking at last weekend's food festival in San Francisco, SF Chefs — I was there, too. There was a lot to enjoy, from cocktails to wine to sweets to savory bites. However, it was easy to pick out the standout offerings. Here are my favorite tastes from the event.
Final Snapshots From South Beach
The demos, food, and cocktails weren't the only things at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival. There's also the tents, the people, and the beach. Basically, there was a lot going on! From celebrity chef sightings to late-night parties, I snapped photos of it all. At one point, I had total sensory overload. To get a better look at the event, I've put together a large gallery of images.
Check it out after the break.
