With Memorial Day weekend upon us, the travel season has officially kicked into full gear. But times like these mean Americans will be favoring road trips over tours abroad. For those of you who enjoy hitting the highway, do share with me: what's your favorite road food pit stop?
I just recently learned about White Castle's one day only "Love Castle" Valentine's Day special. And what do you know — the Waffle House figured, if people get married here, they sure can enjoy a romantic meal here on Valentine's Day, too! One might be inclined to scoff derisively at a wedding that takes place at the Waffle House — if one doesn't know the love of a good waffle or a grilled Texas bacon double patty melt plate. (Mmmmm! 
) If you think about how complicated, expensive, and stressful weddings are when people obsess over details and forget to have fun, this makes so much sense. So hats off to Pam and Bubba! A life together that starts off at the Waffle House is an auspicious one. Wheeee!
While I absolutely adore toast, I definitely have a special place in my heart for waffles. If I have to choose between waffles and pancakes, waffles definitely win. I love the crispiness of the edges, and the way they cradle the syrup in their crevices.
