Happy Hour: Watermelon Sangria

One of my favorite online pastimes is browsing recipes.

One of my favorite online pastimes is browsing recipes. Not just any recipes, but appetizers and pitcher drinks (yes, I am obsessed with cocktail parties). Since I'm partial to certain recipe databases, when I come across a preparation I've never seen before, like this watermelon sangria, I'm super excited. As I read it, getting more and more giddy by the minute, I wondered, how had I never seen it before? I went through the recipe rolodex in my brain. There was nothing labeled watermelon sangria. I sent a link with the recipe to YumSugar asking her if it looked familiar. She had not seen it either. Thus, I made it the following day and received rave reviews. It was so refreshing and easy to drink that I made it again. And again. No joke, this watermelon sangria is my new favorite recipe! It's fruity, cooling, and addictive. Want to learn how it's done? Triple Popsicle: Watermelon, Lemonade, and Blueberry

The hot months are finally here, so it's the perfect time to pull out those popsicle molds and get to work freezing a refreshing Summer treat.

The hot months are finally here, so it's the perfect time to pull out those popsicle molds and get to work freezing a refreshing Summer treat. This three-layered popsicle recipe combines watermelon, lemon, and blueberry ices to create a pop that is both sweet and tart. Although the recipe says to strain the pureed fruit mixtures, I wanted a little texture and left them unstrained. The layering process definitely takes time, but the final product is well worth it. Come Party With Me: Fourth of July — Drinks

When it comes to Summer drinks, I love to use watermelon.

When it comes to Summer drinks, I love to use watermelon. The juicy fruit is 92 percent water — meaning it's pretty easy to puree, strain, and drink. It tastes wonderful on its own, fresh from the blender, or works well in a cocktail.

This recipe combines watermelon puree with white grape juice, lime juice, and club soda. It's refreshing, fruity, delicious, and can be served to kids. For an adult version, add a splash of vodka or gin. To offer this concoction at your Fourth of July barbecue, get the recipe now.
