I LOVE LOVE LOVE cranberry sauce. I make extra to keep the rest of the year to have on turkey sandwiches. I make mine with an apple , and the zest and juice of an orange and a lemon. The recipe you used seems more savory to me.

do you think that the recipe would be great if i were to puree the cranberries? i personally swear by the canned smooth kind so i don't know if i would like even homemade with texture.

Fresh is best. To make it smooth put in the food processor. The blender will make it to watery. But the take of fresh cranberries is so much better.

I love homemade too, I make it more like a relish. Coarsely chop cranberries, add honey, and the juice and zest from an orange, heat until juicy.

I love homemade cranberry sauce... This is the first year I didn't go pick cranberries at my Mom's place.. so I will have to settle for the canned stuff..

I made cranberry sauce last night with a roasted turkey breast. I just combine the bag of cranberries with about a 3/4 cup of orange juice, a little water, and a cup of sugar, I used raw sugar, and cook until the berries pop. Delicious!

I always make homemade cranberry sauce, but my recipe is cranberries and apples with a bit of orange zest and sugar to sweeten it a bit. The apples take a bit of the edge off the tartness of the cranberries.

Homemade cranberry sauce is amazing. It makes me wonder why they even bother to sell the icky canned stuff.
