I like jazz too. But real jazz, not Kenny G jazz. Anyway, I don't like Starbucks coffee and I've never tried McDonalds coffee... I don't really have a hankering to try it either. But the concept of the campaign is kind of cute.

I like it. It doesn't look at all like a McD's commercial.

I a) like jazz, b) can identify most countries on a map, c) have a good rotation going between clothing that shows my knees and clothing that doesn't and d) watch reality TV and CW teen dramas as well as 60 Minutes and The Daily Show. So this commercial strikes me as fairly insulting in it's insinuation that at McD's I won't feel like I have to hide my little lady brain and can quit all that "thinking" crap I've been, apparently, faking at Starbucks all this time.

I drink Starbucks on a regular basis. I tried to drink McDonald's coffee awhile back and was horrified. The iced coffee is pretty good but the regular coffee is dreadful. Trying to tap into Starbuck's market is just bad considering that their coffees are not even close to each other on the taste level. Who cares if its much cheaper, if it doesn't taste good? That's actually a waste of a $1.50! This commercial has actually given me a hankering for Starbucks.

These have been showing in Seattle for a while now. I, like Tinkerbell, find them insulting. That, and I find that McD's coffee to be extremely gross. Seattle has MUCH better (no, not Starbucks) coffee to offer than that crap.

I LOVE the McDonald's commercial with the two guys - "I can shave this thing off my face..." - it's really funny and made me laugh out loud. And as I don't drink coffee at all, I'm not partial to either Starbucks or McDonalds

So is McDonald's purposely trying to say that their target audience are ignorant people, and that that's something to be proud of?

I don't think I could bring myself to drink McDonald's coffee even though it is JUST coffee. I'm just very against fast food places. Plus, I absolutely love Starbucks. I'm not offended, but McDonald's has nothing on Starbucks!!!!

How dare you guys to "think/read", love something more complicated than "Turkey in the hay" and have more than one pair of underwear? Sheesh, you...you....intelectuals! Seriously, there should be a law like in Australia, were they are not allowed throw mud at competition when advertising, that's low....no matter how good your coffee is. (or NOT!)

I love this commercial because my roommate is from paraguay and we laughed SO HARD when we saw this as for the statement that it makes about the actual coffee,Starbucks gets expensive and mcdonalds coffee is a nice ( cheaper) middle ground between starbucks and gas station poo-water

well, I've commented twice on this commercial on Savvy Sugar, but I'll say it here--this is ridiculous. First, because Starbucks is hardly an intellectual place--it's just as ordinary and commercial as McDonalds. Sorry, but there are no shelves full of books at any Starbucks I've been to. Second, making fun of knowledge is disgraceful. Third, why would someone wear heels to McDonalds?

ohhhh, I just thought they were cute. Still will not make me drink the coffee, but they made me giggle. Being that McDonalds was just gently poking fun at the whole cafe scene, I don't think anyone should take it personally. (Unless maybe you live in coffee shops and fit the stereo type perfectly...)

yeah, i thought it was cute. i don't think the references were that insulting to starbucks either. i don't think mccafe coffees will ever overtake starbucks though.

I don't support either chain so it's not really getting me to change any habits. I think the concept is cute, though.

I tried mcdonald's coffee cuz it looked pretty good but was grossly dissappointed. I gave them one more chance but it wasn't any better. I loove starbucks pumpkin spice! mmm...yummy! lol

Have you tried Starbuck's "salty caramel hot cocoa"? It is to die for!!! Absolutely fabulous! That's my drink on the next trip in. And I do think the commercial is cute. Starbucks should take no offense. They have no worry.

haha...oh mcdonald's. whatevers....if you are a caffeine consumer...you're gonna have a preference. It's not about marketing. It's about taste. And frankly, Mcdonald's iced and flavored coffees are ALL watered down and gross. I'd rather have a latte, iced latte, or a blended drink...and will go out of my way to get it!

I don't drink coffee, so this commercial will have no influence, but it is cute. Both of the restaurants are big chains though, so I guess they have to compete.

but I like listening to jazz and having baristas call me by name (even if they mispronounce it and spell it wrong all the time).

The McCain campaign could remake this commercial with Obama as Starbucks and Palin as Mickey Ds.

It's very childish. I'm not a Starbucks fan, don't drink coffee very often, but this ad doesn't even make me curious enough to try mcds coffees.

It's a very cute commercial, but their "specialty" coffee is just horrid. I'd rather go to Starbucks. And I happen to like jazz!
