i've passed by pinks at all hours of the day and i just can't justify waiting in that LONG line for a hot dog. is it worth it? i mean really worth it, not just to say i've tried it?

rainydaybleus - if you're a hot dog fan then it's probably worth it. if you're looking for a quick bite to eat — the line moves relatively quickly — then it's probably worth it. if you're out for a night on the town and need something greasy to wash it all down then it's definitely worth it. I think 2/3 of the people in my line fell into that camp!

I was down in LA with my parents visiting my brother and we went to Pinks. They ordered regular dogs and a couple chili dogs....I ordered a chili dog that also had guacamole and bacon - a super gutbomb. It was DELICIOUS!!! My family just looked at me in horror as I devoured it.

I used to live within walking distance of Pink's in college and went there on a few late-night food runs. As other people have said, the line does move fast and it's worth trying at least once. The hot dogs all have interesting names (last time I was there, there were a few named after some Star Wars characters) and it's a fun atmosphere.

I just watched Throwdown last night and I'm gonna make Pink's 3 dog night hot dog for tonight's dinner - it's a hot dog with chili, cheese and onions in a tortilla. Different, but I'll try almost anything.

FYI...there is also a Pink's at the Aladdin in Las Vegas. It's not the same atmosphere you get in LA, but they're just as yummy. In Las Vegas you actually sit in some restaurant and they serve the hot dog on a plate, not the paper boat thing you get in LA.

The homemade Pink's was pretty tasty and I'd drive to Vegas any day b/f LA. Thanks for the tip. I stayed at Aladdin about 3 years ago with 2 other couples, wish I would have known back then.

i'd heard of Pink's before from movies and the sort but a while back there was a THROWDOWN w/ bobby flay that competed against the pink's folks and that's when i really became familiar. if i ate hot dogs i guess that would be something pretty cool. they have quite the assortment of flavors/toppings and i'm sure that everyone could find something that they like.
