Creating a controversial commercial that ended up banned in Germany does create buzz for the brand. (They got us to talk about Sprite.) But I'm just not sure that comparing Sprite to semen is working for the product here. What do they want us to think? Semen — the taste that refreshes! NOT.
Sprite isn't the first company to have women perform sex acts on a product. Remember Burger King's ad in Singapore that had a woman attempting oral sex on a BK Super Seven Incher? Do you think the trend of pornographic ads will continue with success, or do you predict a backlash?

The other day my bff Emily told me all about her new favorite drink, a vodka press. We are huge vodka drinkers, and when we're not guzzling Grey Goose martinis, we're sipping vodka tonics or vodka sprites or vodka on the rocks — you get the picture. What happens when we are in the mood for a vodka that is neither too sweet (like a vodka sprite) nor too strong (like a vodka tonic)?? Enter the vodka press. It's the prefect refreshing mixture that combines both drinks.
In a vodka press, vodka is diluted with both a club soda or tonic and Sprite. Hello?! How come we are just now learning about this drink?? If you love vodka as much as I do and want to make this cocktail, read more
Do you remember the Diet 7Up Taste Challenge Kit I told you guys about a few weeks ago? Well mine arrived yesterday, and we decided to put our tastebuds to work immediately. When I opened the box I was greeted with 2 sets of instructions (I think this was a mistake), a coupon for a free 2-liter bottle of Diet 7Up, a can of the new Diet 7Up, a can of Sprite Zero and a ridiculously banged up can of Sierra Mist Free. The instructions said to refrigerate the sodas for at least an hour before tasting, but they arrived ice cold - the same temp as the sodas in the fridge - so we dove straight in. I thought that the Diet 7Up we had in the fridge was different, so I ended up throwing that into the mix as well.
I poured each drink into red party cups labeled A, B, C and D - set them out and let everyone taste. No one knew which was which (except me), so there would be no bias. Out of the ten people who participated, 5 liked A the best, 3 for C and 2 for D. To find out what was in each cup, read more
When PartySugar told me that today was National Garlic Day, I immediately set out to find us a cocktail that uses garlic as an ingredient. And yes, yes, I know it sounds horrible, but done well I bet it would be good - think of a Bloody Mary, that sounds horrible on paper too...
At any rate, I was thwarted - turns out it may be a disgusting idea after all - and could not find any cocktail recipes featuring garlic. I did, however, find a recipe called Funky Garlic that actually sounds sort of refreshing (if not also somewhat terrible). It's a mixture of wine and soda, and it sounds dirty, yet light and bubbly. To check out the recipe (oh and if you know of any drinks that feature garlic, let us know), read more
