Bed and Blackmail: Swiss Gigolo Swindled Wealthy Lovers

The richest woman in Germany gets seduced by a Swiss gigolo while away at a luxurious spa. As she carries on the affair, hiding it from her husband and children, the gigolo schemes with his Italian accomplice, who secretly films the lovers from a hotel room next door. The gigolo begs the unfaithful woman to give him $10 million to pay off a fictitious Mafia boss. Once she does, he demands more, or else he will reveal the evidence of her infidelity to the world. No, this tale is not taken from a trashy romance novel, but from a German courtroom.

Yesterday, Helg Scarbi, who's known as the "Swiss Gigolo" was sentenced to six years in jail, after blackmailing Germany's wealthiest woman, Susanne Klatten, and a list of other uber-rich lovers.

Klatten is the reclusive heir to the BMW fortune. She decided to come forward to authorities about the blackmail, and risk embarrassment. Because the seductive swindler confessed, he received six years, instead of 10. Does that sounds like a fair sentence to you?

I'm a big fan of drinks that have Baileys as one of their ingredients. Baileys on the rocks is amazing, but Baileys mixed into a cocktail is even better. While looking for a good Baileys drink to share with you, I stumbled across this delicious sounding recipe that I had never heard of before called BMW. At first I thought there must be a mistake, a BMW is a car not a cocktail, but further research proved it is a both an automobile and an after dinner dessert drink. It's easy to remember, simple to make, and sure to wow your friends with your bar-tending abilities. A BMW is equal parts Baileys, Mailbu, and Whiskey. I'll definitely be trying out this cocktail tonight. For the recipe,

BMW
From Drinkalizer

1 shot Bailey's
1 shot Malibu
1 shot whiskey

Shake equal amounts of Bailey's, Malibu and whiskey with ice in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a rocks glass with a couple of ice cubes.

Makes 1 cocktail.

Pandora's CES Product Domination

Despite an uptick in competition (ahem, Spotify) Pandora isn't budging in its quest for online radio domination, as seen in the dozens of products they're embedded in at CES this year. Cars are the theme this year, as they announced 23 automotive partnerships for 2012. Can we expect a Pandora system in every new car sold now? Just about.

Look to BMW, Mini, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Acura, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Toyota, and Scion for Pandora embedded in the car, using voice commands or dashboard controls. Car stereo manufacturers like Alpine Electronics, Audiovox, Kenwood, and others throughout the year will roll out in-dash receivers featuring the streaming music provider.

Pandora's also integrating beyond smart TVs, with Sony's new line of WiFi-enabled Blu-ray players. Don't forget there's also the Samsung refrigerator we saw at last year's show, so you'll never have to be without streaming music again.

Fair or Not: Millionaire's Son Wins $107 Million Lottery

The rich just keep getting richer. Brian McCarthy, the son of Marriott's millionaire president, became an overnight millionaire himself after buying five tickets to the Mega Millions lottery while he was at local grocery store withdrawing money from the ATM. His father earned a whopping $1.2 million in 2009.

The lucky 25 year old is a Penn State University graduate who is currently working for Pepsi Inc. as an account manager. And this isn't the first time lady luck has smiled upon him - he had previously won $1,000 each in two separate occasions. After his latest win, Brian has opted to take a payout of $68.4 million instead of 26 annual payments. He has already splurged on a new BMW and a golf trip to Ireland. He has also donated $50,000 to two local charities.

Cassette adapter. If you’re still cruising in a car with a cassette player, you can get a tape adapter for $20 or less and connect it directly to the same port you stick your headphones in. The biggest drawback to this option is the wires, but it is a super easy and inexpensive alternative. The sound will be clearer than the transmitter option (below), but still a little tinny. Get one here for $19.99.

Two more options, so

read more Better FM transmitter. Connect your iPod to the transmitter and broadcast your tunes over the air on an open FM frequency. Simply tune your car stereo to the FM station displayed on the device and you’re in business. This option is also inexpensive and easy and is wireless, but the sound isn’t ideal. Best Stereo system. If your car is new enough, you can connect your iPod directly into your stereo system, which means you will be able to control (and charge) your iPod via your regular stereo buttons. BMW, Volkswagen, Subaru, Volvo, Mercedes and Scion are among the first manufactures to offer the integration, although additional adaptors may cost $100-300.
