Here, OnSugar blog Between the Bread teaches us how to turn banana walnut muffins into adorable sandwiches.Last weekend, I decided to bake, a very rare occurrence for me: banana walnut muffins designed to fight PMS! Though they definitely tasted healthy, they were yummy enough to put me in a good mood, moist and flavorful. Of course I couldn't resist making at least one of them into a whoopie pie-inspired muffin sandwich, slicing it across the middle and icing it with fromage blanc from Cowgirl Creamery.

I'm finally getting around to paying my respects to National Panini Month, while also fulfilling a sandwich promise I made to myself not long ago. After being disappointed by The Sentinel's pork and fig sandwich that didn't actually contain figs, I pressed together this panino before fig season bids its sad farewell.
When I came up with the "fruit and nut" idea, I thought: this could be terrible.

The other day I had a sudden, strong craving for an egg sandwich, so I headed to 'Wichcraft with the onion frittata in mind. A brilliantly constructed breakfast sammie, it uses precooked frittata and incredibly fresh ciabatta, so it's not at all messy. The combination of white cheddar, Parmesan, and slow roasted tomatoes creates a rich, multifaceted flavor that's almost — but just almost — too bold.

A friend of mine recently gave me some fresh eggs from her backyard chicken coop, complete with the hugest, yellowest yolks I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Since I love a sweet and savory breakfast sandwich, I got out the strawberry and meyer lemon marmalade that had done me so right before and combined it with crisped prosciutto and my favorite English muffins.
Though this is technically a breakfast sandwich, I had it for dinner.

After a rough year, Starbucks has tried to start off 2009 on the right foot. In addition to rolling out a new line of instant coffee, it also began offering "value pairings" that include two new breakfast sandwich options. Considering the history of the chain's breakfast sandwiches, I was eager to try them out.

In a last-minute change of heart, Starbucks has decided to keep its breakfast sandwiches on the menu. Last January the coffee giant announced that it would be pulling all of its breakfast sandwiches from stores this September. The reason?

In honor of national candy month, I thought I'd pull out a classic candy-related TV Dinner clip for us all. Do you remember the lunchtime scene in The Breakfast Club? Molly Ringwald confuses Judd Nelson with sushi, Emilio Estevez has enough food for a large family and Ally Sheedy perplexes everyone by tossing the pimento loaf out of her sandwich and replaces it with Pixy Stix and Cap'n Crunch cereal instead?

While the Starbucks breakfast sandwich shuffle isn't new, the saga continues on. In the past month, the coffee chain's gotten rid of its piadinis, and added a Huevos Rancheros Wrap ($3.25) in their place. I often order the Spinach Feta Wrap (spinach, egg whites, tomatoes, and feta in a whole wheat wrap), so I couldn't wait to try its Mexican fiesta of a counterpart.

Starbucks sure is indecisive. Last January it announced that breakfast sandwiches would be pulled from its stores. Then in July it changed its mind and simply modified the sandwich recipe.

I love a good brunch, and not surprisingly, I'm also fond of ordering breakfast sandwiches. Both experiences are even better following a night of overindulgence. After attending a very long party on Saturday night, I stopped at San Francisco's Kate's Kitchen and was delighted to see an item had been added to the menu since my last visit: The Lauren Special. This egg and sausage sandwich is way better than your basic breakfast biscuit.
