Much like last year, Bobby Flay was scheduled to cook at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen last Friday. Over the weekend, eight semi-finalists competed to see who would represent the United States at the Bocuse d'Or, a prestigious international culinary competition. Timothy Hollingsworth, a sous chef at the French Laundry, was selected as the winner. Hollingsworth now has three months to prepare for the French showdown in January.

Last night on the Next Food Network Star the final three had to make a promotional commercial for their show and create an over the top buffet for Las Vegas performers. Former NFNS winner, Guy Fieri, coached the contestants and acted as the guest judge.
While each finalist ran into certain obstacles (Lisa burned her pork, Aaron bombed his introduction, and Adam went smoking crazy), I felt like the promos were totally unfair.

I love taco trucks. At my old job, there was one I would flock to at any given chance. It seems my taco truck — aka "roach coach" — love puts me in great company.

The other day I received an interesting email from one of my older brother's best friends, the handsome baseball coach, Matt. In the email, Matt described how he and his fellow coaches recently decided to give up certain foods for the entire baseball season from January until June. Matt is giving up all fried foods (healthy and doable), Scott is giving up cheese (I could NEVER in my entire life give up cheese), and Buddy is giving up bread (another tough one).
