Usually when I plan a party, I base the colors around the invitation. But this week's invite — for an end of summer barbeque — was a hot dog, and I don't want neutral shades to set the tone for a warm weather bash. So I've decided to use a watermelon as my inspiration and create a look with bright green, hot pink, white, and black.

Nothing says end of summer barbeque more than a big batch of margaritas. Ok, ice cold beer also screams end of summer bbq, so be sure to have plenty of both at the fiesta. Depending on how many guests you have attending, you may consider getting a keg.

This is my least favorite party of the entire year. Summer is, in my opinion, the best part of the year, so hosting a party that heralds its bon voyage always puts me in a depressed mood. However planning a party, no matter what kind, always puts a smile on my face.
