Love It or Hate It: Fruit Molds

The other day I came across an online store that carries cucumber molds. Apparently, cucumbers can now be sliced into cute hearts, stars, and other shapes. Seeing this new Japanese invention reminded me of the square watermelon, another fruit mold designed in Japan to make watermelon easier to stack and store.

While fruit molds are entertaining, I'm not sure I'd ever want pyramid mangoes or heart-shaped cantaloupes in my supermarket; the unnatural shapes would simply be too weird for me to eat! What are your thoughts?

Avocado Makes Its Way to Dessert

Everyone knows I am crazy for popsicles - there's no better way to beat the heat on a Summer day. Although avocado is generally used in savory dishes like guacamole, it is a fruit and therefore is perfect for dessert!

These avocado coconut creamsicles are surprisingly delicious and decadent. The avocado, coconut milk, and cream freeze to an exceptionally smooth texture. Because the nutty flavor is incredibly rich and exceptionally filling, a little goes a long way, and next time, I will use a smaller popsicle mold. VegiForms: Love It Or Hate It?

If you've ever wanted to grow your own vegetables shaped like faces, you're in luck. These VegiForms are clear plastic molds that can be secured over growing fruits or vegetables while they're growing. A few weeks later, the vegetables fill the mold and voila! You now have an edible little face staring back at you. Personally I love the molded veggie idea, it's definitely a lot of fun. However, this little face is just too creepy to even think about eating! What do you guys think, do you love it or hate it?
