Feb 3 2007 - 11:50am This week's ultimate kitchen item is a great mixer. I know, it's a bit of a splurge, and not everyone is going to use it. However, if you bake a lot (or plan on becoming a better baker), then you might really want to consider one.

The KitchenAid Pro 600 is at the top of my wish list. (But I'd settle for the Artisan model if I had to!)
1We bought my mom the Artisan model for a gift one year, and she loves it, so it is definitely worth the investment if you like to bake. I couldn't see spending more than a couple hundred dollars on a mixer, but that little DeLonghi one is really cute!
2The Hubs (who loves to cook, but not bake so much), and I (a mostly holidays-only baker who almost never cooks) have decided to go in together and get ourselves a joint second anniversary gift and get the Kitchenaide mixer. We have been eyeing since we set up our registry, and since no one ever got it for us, we're just going to do it ourselves.
I can't wait!
3i want one! mine is like 20 yrs old! LOL
4I just recieved this WONDERFUL tool for Christmas this year... let's be honest, I've used it about six days out of the week since I got it. FABULOUS and in love, for Valentine (because it's all about what you L-O-V-E) I'm getting the pasta set - and, well, I'm beyond excited.
I just what to give a personal 'Salute' to all here at YumSugar. I'm new and excited to share food with others who LOVE IT like I do!
5I use my KitchenAid Pro all the time as well. I got it for really cheap--I think it was $250US at Costco.
6I got myself the Artisan model (in a beautiful cream color - my fave!) last fall with a gift certificate, and it was certainly the best gift I gave myself last year! It made one of my favorite activities - baking cookies with my daughter - so much easier and safer for all involved. I think she loves the mixer as much as I do!
