Tomorrow afternoon I am hosting my first ever knitting party. In the final moments leading up to one of my parties I always get really nervous. For some strange reason I have this anxious fear before each and every party that no one will come and that the party will be an absolute and total failure.

This week I am busy preparing a knitting party. I've invited over a group of girls and Elena, my friend who is a superb knitter, is going to give lessons. It's okay if your friends are at varying levels of understanding knitting.

I love ripping pages out of magazines. There's something so satisfying about hearing the tear noise when I rip the pages out, it just makes me happy. I rip out everything and anything: fashion ads to decorate with, recipes to make, beauty products to buy, images to use as inspiration.

It's the middle of January and I fear that everyone (myself included) is feeling rather blah and quite like hibernating. If I'm going to spend all of my time inside watching Food Network, I might as well do something productive, like knitting. A few months ago my grandma gave me a quick lesson, but I'm afraid I still haven't mastered the technique.

After I graduated from Cal, I was scared by the thought that my education was officially over until I realized that while my school education was over I would never stop learning. Now instead of having to study subjects required of me I could study what ever I wanted: cooking, baking, current events, tennis, and knitting. In January I decided to further my admiration for the culinary world and fully understand wine.
