Whenever I decide to host a party the first thing I do is look for inspiration. It can be found anywhere, but I always enjoy checking out pictures of other people's parties for ideas. I love looking at party pics so much I have created a group — Super Special Occasions — on TeamSugar where you can share all of your party pics with me.

For her little girls' birthday party, FitSugar is decorating with their favorite colors: pink and purple. Although she is hosting the party at kindergym, she'll create a beautiful and inviting look with classic and simple decorations. Balloons are festive tied everywhere and streamers are fun when wrapped around banisters and poles.

When planning a party for children be sure to have lots of beverages on hand to quench the little ones' thirst. Water and milk are acceptable options.
Like many parents, FitSugar prefers not to offer sugary sodas to her girls.

Even FitSugar admits that a birthday party is a wonderful occasion to splurge on a decadent dessert. Or in the case of her little girls' birthday party, two decadent desserts. Since it's a joint event that celebrates both her daughters birthdays, she is letting them each choose a dessert.

When hosting a child's birthday party don't go gourmet. Instead serve crowd pleasing kid's food like pizza. Be sure to have an easy snack on hand for kids who may be hungry during the kindergym games and festivities.

Last week, FitSugar asked me if I would like to help her plan a very special birthday party. Her daughters' birthdays are only three days apart, so she will host one spectacular birthday for both of them. Her girls are still young— one will be 3 and the other will be 5 — and she will be inviting a bunch of children, so she's decided not to host the party at her house.

KatieSugar is our very own little celebrity baby, so the party should rival the little birthday bashes of other fabulous famous baby girls: Suri, Violet, Ramona and Shiloh.

Was last night's episode of Hell's Kitchen both the worst and best so far? The farmers' market challenge felt like I was watching Top Chef but the crazed teenage birthday party felt like I was watching My Super Sweet Sixteen. Did you watch?

What would you do if you had the exact same name as celebrity chef Rachael Ray? Well, cook of course! Last week the Oakland Tribune introduced the world to the other Rachael Ray, a 10-year-old Fremont resident, who enjoys spending her time in the kitchen: Rachael was born years before the cooking show host hit the big time, she definitely wasn't named after Rachael Ray, and she's used to getting yak-back about her name.

Doesn't it seem like the days are just flying by?? I mean it seems like just yesterday KatieSugar could barely crawl and now she's turning 1 and is on the verge of walking. A baby's first birthday is an excellent way to invite your friends and family over to see how much your child has grown within the last few months.
