Much like hibiscus, lavender has become an increasingly popular ingredient at the table. I'll admit that when I first tried lavender in food, I wasn't crazy about it, as I'd always associated the flower's aroma with spa treatments.
Lavender first began to grow on me last November, when I tried Loft, a new line of flavored organic liqueurs and proclaimed the line's lavender infusion as my favorite.

When it comes to food, I try to be as receptive as possible. If I don't like something on the first taste, I'll often try it again later, just to keep an open mind and palate. I wasn't a fan of Loft's Tangerine Liqueur on its own, but I wanted to give it another chance.

Earlier this month, I was pleasantly surprised to hear about the opening of the world's first all-organic bar. So when I learned of Loft Liqueurs, the first USDA certified organic liqueur, I had to find out what all the hype was about.
Created by two best friends and San Francisco hospitality veterans to save people from "the bright neon color of your average apple martini," the limoncello-inspired spirits are at the forefront of sustainability and eco-consciousness.

I'm not so sure this Hidden Kitchen would work as well as I would want it to - I imagine you'd need a pretty sweet open loft to get away with it - but there's something about it that I really like. Visually, it reminds me of tetris and space invaders, plus I like that everything folds up and hides away. I just don't think it's quite big enough and I wonder if I would get tired of looking at it after a while (although the tiles can change to suit your style).

Salt and pepper shakers are great everyday tools that can be used to add style and personality to your kitchen. Sure you can get them in plain old clear glass but why would you want to when they come in so many fun and fabulous colors, shapes, and styles? For example, both casie82 and I ask, how cute are these salt and pepper shakers?
