During a recent endeavor to make
peach rice pudding popsicles, I loved the rice pudding so much (a good amount of it wound up in my stomach instead of the freezer!) that I decided it was time to make a batch.
Enter this rice pudding recipe, which highlights all the freshest Summer fruits. It's comfort food to the max, with a glutinous bite and creamy, vanilla undertones.

At any
brunch, it is mandatory to have an assortment of breakfast beverages. Just-brewed coffee, a variety of teas, ice-cold milk, and fresh-squeezed orange juice are delightful selections. Keep things simple and offer only one alcoholic drink — a
bloody Mary or
bellini are definite crowd pleasers.

If you've somehow managed to save any of last night's
Chimichurri Steak then you're going to love tonight's dinner. It's a simple, easy to put together meal that is perfect for a busy Monday night. And if you didn't make last night's dish, don't worry - I've got the full recipe for those of you starting from the beginning.

When Yum and I
chatted with Michael Chiarello last week, he demonstrated crepes - a dish he declared perfect for
Mother's Day. First he showed us the best technique for making them by using a nifty little
crepe machine and then his assistants brought out platters of crepes for everyone in the audience! We sampled both a savory
bbq chicken crepe and a sweet
chocolate crepe (both Yum and I favored the savory).

PartySugar mentioned that we were fortunate enough to
meet Michael Chiarello last week - she also mentioned that we got to taste the wines from the Napastyle Wine Club. What she didn't mention was that one of the wines really stood out from the rest. I even had to take a picture of the bottle and remind myself to look it up when we got back.

Last Thursday evening, YumSugar and I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with one of my favorite
Food Network chefs and the creator of
Napastyle, Michael Chiarello. Michael specializes in homey Italian influenced Northern California cuisine and has been the host of many television shows including Season by Season on PBS,
Easy Entertaining on FN, and
Napastyle on Fine Living. I love Michael for his friendly, easy going approach toward food and his fresh, delicious, recipes.

Do you know anyone who is a food snob? You know who I'm talking about, that friend of yours who refuses to eat American cheese and salad from a bag. Her definition of dinner is a seven course meal with wine pairings to match each course.

Sometimes you just want an effortless single vegetable side to pair with a steak or roast chicken. Other times you need a hearty, flavorful side to serve vegetarian guests at a dinner party. And then there are those nights when you have spent so much time fretting about the main dish that you've waited until the last minute to find something to pair with it.
