I'm attending the events, speaking with the party planners, and getting the recipes so you can incorporate the up to the minute trends, decor, and dishes into your fabulous parties. After fretting about
what to wear, I attended the opening party for Couture & Cocktails Vivienne Westwood: 36 Years in Fashion, an incredibly fashionable exhibit at the de Young museum.

Thanks for profiling this event. I was out of town this past weekend and couldn't attend, but it looks like it was a lot of fun. Good to know that the exhibit was fab...I'll definitely be checking it out when I return.
1My Manhattanite friend and I were talking about how quintessentially "San Francisco" the crowd at the deYoung was on Saturday night.
There were a handful of amazing couture-inspired outfits (did you see the girl in the stunning brown silk bubble skirt and ivory silk "victorian" blouse?), several fabulous drag queens, even more BDSM-type outfits, and then... then, there were the hippies wearing their Merrills and crotch-worn GAP khakis.
I love this town.
2BTW - Ms. Westwood TOTALLY was there... I think of her as such an icon that I couldn't believe how much she's aged. She was still rockin' that amazing hair, though, and was dressed in this fabulous silk sari-thing.
3I co-chaired the VIP party for the Westwood opening night at the de Young. It was amazing - really incredible night. Vivienne was definitely there - she spent her time in VIP as she doesn't like crowds. She's amazing - beautiful - tiny - and from the time i spent with her - a lovely lovely woman. She may have aged - but she still rocks it! She sang me a song
It was definitely one of the highlights of the evening for me.
Great party all around - an evening that won't be soon forgotten.
