It's only natural, then, that we've been eating up campaign politics, too - and boy, is it tasty. We had some tough choices to make, but these treats get our top votes.

Palin Pig Sandwich: Love It or Hate It?

In case you haven't gotten enough of Barack Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comment, restaurant owners in Sarah Palin's home state of Alaska have decided to make a sandwich based on the statement.

The McPalin Grilled Pig Sandwich is on the menu at Lion's Den in Anchorage, AK. Said owner Dale Keefe, "I kept thinking about that news story when I was making sandwiches and I just kind of had an epiphany."

The $13 sandwich, which has been selling out at the restaurant, consists of pork tenderloin, caramelized apples, red onions, melted cheddar cheese, and crisp bacon. It comes with an unusual side of fries and lipstick.

Would You Eat This Palin Sandwich?

Last week I couldn't stop gushing about Ike's Place, my new favorite sandwich joint in town. Well, this weekend, I made a return trip there and tried one of their new offerings, an election-minded sandwich called The Palin.

Generously sized for its $8.98 price tag, The Palin was jam-packed with shredded chicken breast, deep-fried mozzarella sticks, blue cheese, and Frank's Red Hot Sauce. While I wished there had been a little less hot sauce, I thought the result was one heavenly mess.

If the world's largest burger wasn't too much for you, maybe you can appreciate the newest addition to the burgerverse. Grub Street reports that casual chain Red Robin has created a breakthrough called the Wise Guy Burger, which consists of a burger patty, marinara sauce, pepperoni slices, peppers, tomatoes, and yes, mozzarella sticks. Although they say it "just seems wrong" to go there, as a lover of The Palin sandwich at Ike's, I must respectfully disagree. Is it something you'd try?

Tips For Hosting a Debate-Watching Party

Last week the series of presidential debates began and tonight the saga continues with a showdown between vice-presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sarah Palin. It's the perfect occasion to throw an impromptu viewing party! Hosting a debate party is a great way to feel more involved in the election process. To help you quickly plan a fabulous fete, I've rounded up some tips and ideas. Get them now and read more.

Send a presidential themed evite to let friends know about the party.
Make sure there is plenty of comfortable seating and that everyone can see the TV.
Turn up the volume and put closed captioning on. When some of the crowd gets too noisy, dedicated debate watchers can read what the candidates are saying.
If you have a laptop and WiFi connection, set up the computer on a nearby coffee table and participate in CitizenSugar's live chat.
Play a drinking game by setting up rules like drink every time Palin says "small town" or drink whenever Biden uses the word "Scranton."
Download bingo cards and have guests play bingo. Give small bottles of liquor to the winners.
Create a patriotic atmosphere by decorating with red, white, and blue.
Before the fun begins and while guests are arriving, ask trivia questions about the candidates.

Stock up on plenty of drinks and delicious snacks.
