Since he competed in the Next Iron Chef two Summers ago, San Francisco's acclaimed offal-chef, Chris Cosentino, has been a very busy guy. He's worked nights at his head-to-tail rustic Italian restaurant, Incanto, opened a salumeria, Boccalone, at the Ferry Building in SF, and filmed a new television show, Chef vs. City, for the Food Network.

Precocious child chefs and foodies — a trend to hit the media circuit last year — apparently aren't over yet. Remember Greg Grossman, the 13-year-old rising caterer on the Hamptons circuit? Now 14, the kid caterer is no longer a novice to the world of publicity, and has recently landed a deal to develop his own television show.

This month, Good magazine features a collection of narrative images that explores the different ways people address food. "You Are What You Eat," a collection of narrative images by artist Mark Menjivar, divulges the contents of various eaters' refrigerators.
One fridge, stacked haphazardly with various styrofoam takeout containers, reflects the night owl habits of a bartender.

I was really disappointed with the outcome of Wednesday night's Top Chef. Jamie was my favorite cheftestant and I was certain she would make it to the final three. When I spoke with Jamie yesterday morning, I was surprised by her incredibly positive attitude.

This weekend I've invited my seven very best friends to join me at my vacation house in the Sierra Nevada mountains. We'll watch movies, go wine tasting in Murphys, and indulge in nonstop good eats. Naturally I'm planning the menu.

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, it's a known fact that the employees at Google live a charmed life. Besides massages and Internet-wired shuttles, Googlers are invited to free breakfast, lunch, and dinner each and every day. The Google campus has 17 gourmet cafés, complete with 700 culinary staffers and 20 chefs.

He's learned that soggy corndogs won't get you too far, but chef Erik Hopfinger has no regrets. We chatted with Erik yesterday afternoon and asked him about his experience on Top Chef and what it was like to have his food torn apart by the judges. We also discovered what the self-proclaimed Pirate Chef has up his sleeve, as well as his thoughts on high-end Mexican cuisine.
