Oct 22 2009 - 2:00pm At a recent happy hour hosted by a friend, I found myself conveniently placed near a certain charismatic snack: rustic crisps studded with slivers of dried cranberries and roasted hazelnuts. Despite my attempts to save my appetite for dinner, I couldn't pull myself away from the crackers, which were just as habit-forming when eaten alone as they were with a slather of good goat cheese.
After a little research, I learned that
Lesley Stowe's Raincoast Crisps, as they're called, hail from Canada and come in a multitude of flavors, like Raisin Pecan, Fig and Olive, and Salty Date and Almond, and are sold at many Whole Foods stores.

I'm sure they taste fantastic, but the pictures make them look moldy and.... filled with wildlife, let's say. :-/
1Oh my goodness! What a surprise to see these here! I'm from Vancouver, and that's where these crackers started. There a staple at any dinner party you go to around here, usually paired with a soft cheese like chevre. They look strange, but they really are so addictive!
2We LOVE these at our house. They are a party staple with brie or really any other soft cheese. So, so good. I'm not as crazy about the other flavors though.
3These are my favourite crackers in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. I'm from Vancouver as well and they're all the rage here! I love it with Brie...yum.
4They are carried by Whole Foods here in Texas. It is a little piece of my Vancouver home down here!
5I ADORE these crackers! Every time we host a party at the house, I pick up a box from our Whole Foods.
6I once bought some of these crackers and they were dangerously addictive! I love them.
