Feb 10 2007 - 5:12am In the kitchen there are usually a bunch of things that people take for granted and never think twice about. They get taken out to do their function and then put back as soon as possible. One of these items is a colander.
I also use mine to steam vegetables (sooo much less hassle than a steamer...) I just put it over a pot of boiling water and put a glass lid over it. It works fabulously.

1I love the enamel colander! I have the Good Grips one, and it's great for day to day.
2i just got my brother a cutting board/colander that fits over any sink on crateandbarrel.com
be sure to check it out, it's pretty cool and the colander not only pops out to be cleaned, but collapses inward so it can be stored flat.

4I think collanders are pretty. I have 3 in different sizes.
