It's T minus two days until your big Halloween party! Since nobody wants to spend the entire night mixing cocktails, serve a punch. It's quenches the thirst of a crowd and is easy to make.

I love blue cheese, but occasionally find that it can overpower a dish with its pungent flavor. But after appreciating its modest contribution to last week's buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese, I was ready to give it a starring role.
One of my favorite versions of macaroni and cheese in San Francisco is made by Solstice, a restaurant and bar in my neighborhood.

This October, instead of being bummed about Summer's departure, I've decided to get excited for Fall. I've changed the background on my phone to an image of autumnal flowers, I've searched FabSugar for Fall-look inspiration, I've decorated my house with white pumpkins, and most importantly, I've starting sipping this apple cocktail.
Apples are a quintessential ingredient at this time of year, thus a stimulating concoction made with apple cider and dark rum seems seasonally appropriate.

Since Fall is a time when the weather is often warm in the day, but cooler at night, for my Autumnal lunch, I plan on serving a dessert that is both hot and cold in temperature. A semifreddo is an Italian dessert that is partially frozen.
While there are many variations, the one I'll offer guests is a luxurious mixture of almonds and heavy cream.

Bring the flavors of breakfast to the dinner table with this meal. The ingredients — apples, potatoes, onions, sausage — are simple but superbly complementary in taste and texture. The recipe calls for soy sausage, but it would be equally comforting with chicken apple sausages.

That's why, while at a recent Root Division art auction, when I saw that the specialty cocktail was an appletini, I avoided it. However, when I heard the appletini was a creation of one of San Francisco's best bartenders, H.

From butternut squash mac and cheese to persimmon and pomegranate salad, lately I can't get enough of everything Fall. Desserts, in particular, are comforting in a way that no other dish can be, and FinnLover's pudding, with its Autumn spices, apples, and brown sugar syrup, embodies exactly that. Party must be able to predict the future, well, at least mine, because this past weekend a friend dropped off a bushel of apples! After reading through your wonderful ideas and strongly debating on making those scrumptious apple and brie nachos, I opted for a traditional, exceptionally tasty apple crisp!
Like crumbles, crisps are very easy to make and require little prep work.

We know that apples are in season, and we can even identify one variety from the next, but how do you use apples? They're delicious raw and equally tasty cooked down to butter. The versatile fruit adds crunch to salads and classically fills a pie.
