The immersion blender is a great kitchen gadget that's especially useful in cooler months when soup making is a frequent activity. Although I have an immersion blender I love, DearSugar does not.
I asked you to help me find her the perfect immersion blender.

I've decided to give myself a spring time treat in the form of a new blender. As you can imagine I'm all about cocktail making during the summer and I try to use as many fresh ingredients that oftentimes require blending and blitzing. A new blender that can expertly and efficiently crush ice and smoothly mix it into a piña colada is very important to me.

During summer I'm all about blitzing up fresh and exotic cocktails, with new and interesting ingredients. A new blender that can expertly and efficiently crush ice and smoothly mix a piña colada is very important to me.

Whenever I'm cooking for a crowd and need a recipe that's portable, I always consider pasta salad. It's filling and easy to make a large batch. While sometimes I assemble a Mediterranean pasta salad with orzo and feta, I also like to make this recipe with tomatoes and mozzarella.

In my continuing quest to think outside the spirit box, I have developed not only an appreciation for gin, but also one for rum. Well not just any rum, Jamaica's finest Appleton Estate rum. Earlier this week I was invited to an tasting at Spruce restaurant in San Francisco, and I got to sample the rich caramel-colored liquor neat in four different cocktails.

When the weather is gorgeous, who wants to waste time in the kitchen? This no-cook recipe is ideal for hot Summer nights because it comes together quickly and is 100 percent portable. It does, however, require a food processor or blender to make the thick artichoke-chickpea hummus-style spread.
