My favorite condiment in the entire world might just be Tabasco hot sauce (DearSugar and I both put it on everything!) — so when I heard the hot-sauce empire was developing its own tequila, I got my hands on a bottle stat.
If you're a fan of tequila and not afraid of heat, you should definitely give Tabasco Tequila ($21.99) a try. The spirit has the toasty-tart flavor of tequila with a bit of spice that's not overpowering.

Not only is today the first day of 2007, but it's National Bloody Mary day as well. Quite suitable if you woke up this morning feeling like your head was about to burst. Hangovers are the worst, but sometimes a good Bloody Mary can do the trick.

Last week, I was headed to the grocery store and drove past one of the best Bloody Mary spots in the city. I saw the line of people and knew I had to have one. So while at the store, I picked up some tomato juice, celery, and olives — I was positive I had everything else at home — and rushed straight home.

A few weeks ago, my friends and I met up for brunch at Ti Couz here in San Francisco. I promptly ordered a Bloody Mary and my friend thought she might do the same. Then when she saw it arrive with a shrimp in it, she decided she would be better off with a mimosa.

When we decided to declare this week salad week, I knew that the first happy hour would have to be the quintessential Bloody Mary. In a way the Bloody Mary is like a liquid salad - celery, onions, tomatoes - only with alcohol in it. I know that a lot of people dislike the way they taste, however there is something about the savory flavor that keeps me coming back for more.

Besides the requisite cup of coffee, my favorite brunch drink is the Bloody Mary. But after trying the Bloody Maria, I think I may need to reconsider.
A Bloody Maria is essentially a Bloody Mary made with tequila instead of vodka.

To celebrate Father's Day, I'm heading off to the race track with my dad. I'm packing a lunch with classic picnic foods: sandwiches, macaroni salad, and cream cheese brownies. An all-American menu calls for an equally classic cocktail, and since the races start relatively early (at noon), a big batch of bloody marys are the perfect choice to get things started.

After a long night of New Year's Eve parties, there is only one thing that will make guests feel better: Bloody Marys. Nothing beats the classic hangover drink's power to make a headache disappear. If there is leftover champagne, mix it with orange juice for mimosas.
