Who doesn't love
comfort food with a twist? I certainly do, so naturally I was thrilled to experiment with this hearty version of the
American classic: butternut squash mac and cheese. Although the finished dish is the vibrant color of the classic Kraft
Macaroni and Cheese, this variation is substantially more flavorful.

Party must be able to
predict the future, well, at least mine, because this past weekend a friend dropped off a bushel of apples! After reading through your wonderful ideas and strongly debating on making those scrumptious
apple and brie nachos, I opted for a traditional, exceptionally tasty apple crisp!
Like
crumbles, crisps are very easy to make and require little prep work.

When it comes to baked pastas, most people think of lasagna or macaroni and cheese. However, ziti, a thick, tubular pasta, is ideal for baking, especially when coated with a dense, rich sauce.
This comforting version is made with turkey sausage and canned tomatoes.

As soon as I heard that
Jack in the Box was debuting these
Cheesy Macaroni Bites, I knew I had to try them.
Macaroni and cheese is my favorite comfort food, and I love trying the latest flavor of any item to come out of the deep fryer.I almost had a heart attack when I learned what the calories were on this tiny snack, (although it could have been that my arteries were already filling up with saturated fat). Still, the petite wedges — with their gooey, cheesy interior and crispy, golden, battered exterior — were delicious.

If you're a fan of comforting chicken dishes, make this meal tonight. Chicken pot pie meets chicken and dumplings in this scrumptious recipe. With the help of packaged cornbread twists, the dish comes together simply and quickly.

I'll admit it, I'm not afraid. I love meatballs. Hamburgers do nothing for me, but small balls of ground meat in a fragrant sauce are like taking a bite out of heaven!

Thanks to the
high-end comfort food trend, meatloaf is suddenly seriously scrumptious. A nostalgic dish, meatloaf is a super-flavorful, filling meal. Several types of meat add a great complexity, finely chopped vegetables and herbs act as seasonings, and a tomato sauce keeps the meat moist and succulent.

Purchasing cooked chicken breasts from the grocery store is one of my no fail, quick fix meal planning tips. There are so many different things you can do with a piece of cooked chicken. Tonight let's pair the cooked chicken with vegetables, cheese, and biscuits for a rapid version of the classic chicken and biscuits dish.

In my opinion, every home cook should know how to make a good chili. With its hearty beans and spicy sauce, it's a comforting American classic that can be served at many different functions, so it's insane not to have a recipe (or three) in your repertoire. It's easy to adjust the quantity of a chili recipe, it travels well, and the stuff is a genuine crowd pleaser.

The days are getting shorter, and I've noticed a cold nip in the air. While it's not yet time to bring out my boot collection, it is time to start making delicious comfort foods. Chicken pot pie, with its creamy filling and flaky crust, is one of my all time fall favorites.
