Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Dr Pepper Snapple Group have just done the unthinkable. They've banded together in print and television ads to promote their new campaign to remove full-calorie soft drinks from nationwide schools. The joint initiative, spearheaded by the American Beverage Association (ABA) and called Clear on Calories, hopes to tackle childhood obesity with actions such as placing calories on the front of packages, vending machines, and fountain machines.

Looks like KFC isn't ready to give up its moment in the spotlight just yet. It's switching its marketing game plan and replacing pitches on potholes with flyers on fire hydrants.
To get the word out about the new Fiery Grilled Wings, KFC is giving two cities in Indiana, Brazil and Indianapolis, $7,500 so local officials can improve their cities' fire safety — and emblaze Colonel Sanders's face onto their hydrants and fire extinguishers.

"Amp Up Before You Score" is a free iPhone application that offers young men pointers on how to get in bed with 24 different types of women.

Yesterday, a federal judge tossed out another author's claims that Seinfeld had copied from her cookbook. Seinfeld made a name for herself with Deceptively Delicious, a cookbook that encourages tricking kids into eating healthier food.

To promote its new Bud Light Lime cans, Anheuser-Busch is getting the word out through an interesting campaign that takes raunchiness to the next level. The online commercial features confessions of people who claim they enjoy "getting it in the can."
Industry vets have called the spot a "wannabe viral video" that's "crude" and "juvenile."

This Summer's turned out to be quite the roller coaster ride for Papa John's founder John Schnatter. First, he and the pizza chain held a contest to locate his 1971 Camaro, the car he sold to finance his first pizza joint 25 years ago.
In what seemed like a fairy tale, Schnatter reunited with his long lost Camaro in Flatwoods, KY.
