Lately I've noticed a lot of jewelry that looks like food, or takes its inspiration from food. In fact, I've seen so much of it, that I thought I would do a full A to Z of food-inspired jewelry. Last week we ran it as a 5 part series, but I thought you might be interested in seeing it all as one big list. Fancy Food Jewelry U-Z (Part 5 of 5)

In the last part of our food-inspired jewelry roundup we'll address the letters U, V, W, X, Y and Z. At first I thought it would be impossible to find items for these letters, but fortunately there were actually quite a few things to choose from! Okay, so it wasn't flawless, I actually had to cheat a bit when it came to X. Instead of using the letter X, I went with the Roman Numeral X (10). So far, in our journey through food-inspired jewelry, we've gone from apple bobby pins to junk food charms, and today we'll have a look at the letters K through O. I've found kiwi brooches, scented lollipop earrings, mushroom rings, nigiri earrings (mix and match even!) and for him: olive cufflinks. The other day FabSugar tipped me off to a pair of earrings shaped like caviar. I thought they were pretty interesting, but I also passed it off as part of the "food jewelry" trend. Have you noticed how easy it is to find jewelry shaped like little edible items? Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of wearing donuts around your necklace (hey, it's better than your waistline!), however the whole idea seems a bit wild. To prove just how hip food-inspired jewelry has become, I thought we'd do a 5 part series of food jewelry A-Z. Padma Lakshmi's Jewelry Line Debuts Tomorrow

Model. Top Chef hostess. Cookbook author. Now Indian beauty and culinary world darling, Padma Lakshmi can add jewelry designer to her résumé. Her high-end (prices range from $300-6,000) namesake collection of gold jewels debuts tomorrow at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and I've got a sneak preview! The line combines Padma's love for food and fashion.

She was inspired by cardamom, lentils, and cloves: "In hunting for the most precious spices, I found the shapes of seeds and pods exquisite, a purity of proportion and form that had an inherent sensuality to them." Entitled "Padma" the collection consists of 40 pieces including rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. I'm a fan of bohemian gold jewelry and if I could afford it, I might purchase of one Padma's pieces. What do you think of her designs?

What's Yummy This Week: YumSugar Weekly Recap

This week the warm weather got to us and we decided to plan a pool party.
The new Harry Potter film opened, so we geeked out and came up with a list of our top 10 Harry Potter related recipes. There are some good ones in there, including hot and cold butterbeer.
This week's ice cream sandwich is a lovely ginger snap with peach ice cream. I'm sad I didn't get to taste it.

Speaking of ice cream, we started our For the Love of Ice Cream challenge. Blog about your favorite ice cream!

Come Party With Me: Golden Globes Viewing - Menu

The Hollywood awards season starts next Monday, January 15, with the Golden Globe Awards. My favorite part of any award show is getting a glimpse of the amazing dresses, jewelry, and hairstyles that the stars wear. Instead of watching alone, I plan on inviting a small group of my close girlfriends over to dine and watch the show with me. Although the event will be low-key in comparison to the one we watch on TV, I want to make a luscious vegetarian meal full of flavor for the girlies to enjoy. Since the event will be attended by an all female crowd, and because several of my girlfriends are vegetarians or only eat fish, I will make a mostly meat-less meal. While we watch the pre-show and discuss the best dressed actresses, I'll serve a warm Crab Salad on Tiny Toasts. I don't want to miss any of the entertainment by having to slave over the stove so the dinner will consist of prep-ahead food. I'll dish out a hearty bowl of Cheddar Vegetable Chowder and plate up a Marinated Mushroom Salad with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes. The day before the party is Sunday and I'll take advantage of having the day off by making a Lemon Tart for dessert at the Golden Globe viewing.
