ABC Pulls Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution From Tuesday Nights

Jamie Oliver has not had much good luck as of late. He ran into all sorts of difficulties when shooting the second season of Food Revolution in Los Angeles, and now it's been pulled from its regular Tuesday night time slot. The show, which premiered on April 12, didn't get high enough ratings, so ABC has removed it from the schedule. However, the network plans on airing the remaining episodes on Read more

Do You Watch Food Network on Weekend Mornings?

My favorite time to watch the Food Network is on weekend mornings. With programs like Giada at Home, 5 Ingredient Fix, and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, it's when new episodes of their "In the Kitchen" series air. I much prefer this style of cooking show over the reality, competition, and travel shows that air at night on the network. Thus, everyday Saturday and Sunday, when I'm home I like to Read more

America's Next Great Restaurant and Chopped All-Stars Premiered

Last night saw the debut of two much-hyped-about food television shows: Bobby Flay's America's Next Great Restaurant on NBC and Chopped All-Stars on Food Network. I watched both and found them to be overall entertaining. At a time when the fast-food industry has been under scrutiny, it's interesting that mega chefs Flay and Curtis Stone are investing in a chain eatery. Over on Chopped, it was Read more

Do You Get the Cooking Channel?

If you regularly tune into the Food Network, you'll be familiar with the Cooking Channel, the network's sister channel that was launched last May. Commercials for the newer channel air on the Food Network, and the shows seem interesting and exciting. However, many people I've talked to say the Cooking Channel isn't a part of their cable package. Unfortunately, I don't get it either. How about Read more

Do You Enjoy Amateur Cooking Competitions on TV?

The other night I turned on the Food Network to find yet another Food Network Challenge with some random chefs facing off for a money prize. While I enjoy reality culinary competitions like the Next Food Network Star or Top Chef, I'm just not interested in watching no-name amateur chefs run around trying to create something. I prefer to watch a professional or celebrity chef in a more educational Read more
