Recently we brainstormed the ultimate
Popsicle. In my ideal Popsicle, the pesky wooden stick would be replaced with something deliciously edible. I decided to experiment with
Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes, a rolled, wafer cookie with cream filling, using the cookie as the stick.

After drooling over PartySugar’s
mojito cakes, I wanted to experiment with my own freezer pie. When searching for a recipe, I remembered one of my favorite frozen dessert cookbooks,
Icebox Pies by Lauren Chattman. Since I'm crazy for
Nutella, I decided to make her Gianduia Pie.

A little while back, I received a box of
ice cream cupcakes by PhillySwirl. I put the box in the freezer and totally forgot about them until I
saw them featured on the Today Show. So last week, Yum,
Molly, and I cracked open the box.

When I saw the recipe Yum found for
frozen mojito cakes, I knew I had to make them. A cross between key lime pie and a mojito, these individual cakes are everything you want in a summer dessert. They are sweet yet tart, cold but creamy, and downright delicious. The pretzel crust adds a salty flavor and crunchy texture.

Let's face it: some days, it's too hot to even consider turning the oven on. However, the heat shouldn't hold you back from making delicious desserts. Here are seven sans-oven options (even cookies and tarts!) that you can turn to when the heat is on.

This summer
popsicles are all the rage. While
YumSugar's been experimenting with them for weeks now, I have yet to join her on this icy adventure. The reason I haven't made popsicles is because I don't own any popsicle molds.

Although I love a decadent chocolate cake, there is no place for rich desserts at a
pool party. Guests will be in swimsuits, so serve something that's refreshing, cold, and not too sweet.
These sangria popsicles are a delicious grownup treat.

A few weeks ago, San Francisco found itself in the middle of a big heat wave. Everyone at the Sugar HQ was melting to their desks and in need of a cool treat. That's when I remembered an impromptu purchase I'd made the week before.I was at the local drugstore and noticed a display of Soda Pops Freezer Pops at the front counter.

Nothing says "hello, Summer" more than an icy, cold, fruity popsicle! Refreshing and delicious, these watermelon cucumber popsicles are the perfect finish to a classic
Memorial Day barbecue
menu. Although you will need to purchase
popsicle molds and sticks, it's worth the investment because homemade popsicles are sublimely divine.
