Last Thursday, frozen yogurt chain
Red Mango announced that it would be partnering with pomegranate juice pioneer,
POM Wonderful, to debut its first
new flavor, Pomegranate by POM Wonderful.
But someone else had the same idea: Red Mango's biggest rival, cult favorite
Pinkberry.
New York magazine's food blog first reported that the rival chain's pomegranate flavor is slated to hit stores Nov.

Green tea frozen yogurt may be cool, but the war between frozen yogurt chains
Red Mango and
Pinkberry is heating up. Only weeks after Pinkberry hired branding firm
Bulldog Drummond, archrival
Red Mango has cut a seven-figure deal with the
Richards Group ad agency. In the past two years, a new kind of
frozen yogurt has exploded in major American cities by way of Asia. The tart, icy treat with fruit,
mochi, and cereal-flake toppings quickly gained a cult following.

If you're craving some sweet treats, you can do better than
fattening ice creams. We are living in a golden age of low-fat and low-cal goodness galore, so I've rounded up seven of my favorite guiltless frozen foods that will please adult and kid sweet tooths alike. What are your favorite ice cream alternatives?

New York's most popular low-calorie, ice-cream alternative,
Tasti D-Lite, has announced plans for international expansion. James Amos, the owner of Tasti D-Lite, which was
featured on Sex and the City, told the
Wall Street Journal about the
brand's growth: Two Tasti D-Lite stores opened this month in Seoul; expansion into Israel and Mexico is in negotiation. Late last month, Tasti D-Lite signed franchising deals for a minimum of 16 stores in Tennessee and at least 40 in Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, and Houston.

The temps have been rising this past week here in San Francisco, and it looks like dog mommy
Lilpeapod picked up some
Yöghund frozen yogurt to help cool little Samson down. Frenchies are known for
their intolerance to heat, but I get the feeling he's doing just fine by the looks of things! Lilpeapod says that Samson is now a big fan of Yöghund, and of my little guy:
After hearing that it was one of North's faves, Samson just had to have the Peanut Butter and Banana flavor Yöghund fro-yo.

You've tried the rest, now try the grossest.
Thanks,
eBaum's World!

Here at Sugar HQ, everyone is crazy for the new, dangerously close frozen yogurt joint,
SoGreen. After consuming a couple of SoGreen's delicious, fruity treats, I decided to experiment with my own variation. Currently I'm obsessed with
Popsicles, so naturally, I was inspired to make a frozen yogurt Popsicle.
New York has
Tasti D-lite, Los Angeles has
Pinkberry, and finally San Francisco has jumped on the frozen-yogurt bandwagon with the opening of
SoGreen. Like it's counterparts, SoGreen uses real yogurt with active cultures that can help with
digestion and boosting the immune system. The hot spot opened literally downstairs from our office, so a bunch of us recently took a froyo field trip.

I'll eat just about any sweet, frozen treat, from
gelato to
Dr. Pepper popsicles. But
frozen yogurt has the added bonus of being low-fat and trendy!
