In case you weren't aware, today is Park(ing) Day, a yearly event where businesses and volunteers take the time to construct parks in parking spaces in an effort to make the world a greener place.
We'll be hosting a special taste challenge at CasaSugar's Sweet Spot Park, so stop by between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.

This one's been making it's way around the blogosphere (sidenote: I hate that word), for a while now, but this morning GeekSugar was talking about how much she still wanted it and I realized that I never mentioned it. It's a waffle maker that makes keyboard shaped waffles. Talk about geeky breakfast chic!

Alright, so maybe I should have passed this news on to geeksugar instead of writing my own post, but I couldn't resist! The folks over at the Machine Project are hosting a "dorkbake" bake-off and I just had to share the news.
Now you're probably asking yourself, what's a "dorkbake"?

This Summer we've been celebrating in-season produce with a plethora of delicious salad recipes. Thus I thought it was high time we showcase a wide variety of salad accessories. From bowls to spinners to colanders to tongs to platters, a lot of kitchen tools are necessary to prepare and serve a scrumptious salad.

I'm going to spend the weekend at a girlfriend's beach house. To thank her for hosting me, I want to give her a new cookbook. Technically she's a pescaterian, but I think she would benefit from a book that focuses on vegetarian cuisine.
