I'm not so sure this Hidden Kitchen would work as well as I would want it to - I imagine you'd need a pretty sweet open loft to get away with it - but there's something about it that I really like. Visually, it reminds me of tetris and space invaders, plus I like that everything folds up and hides away. I just don't think it's quite big enough and I wonder if I would get tired of looking at it after a while (although the tiles can change to suit your style).

Food and drink are such an integral aspect of every day life, that it's easy to take it all for granted and never think about the creation of it. So for a quick culinary history lesson, here are a few food related firsts that occurred on today's date, June 25:
- The fork turns 377 years old. In 1630, the governor of a colony in Massachusetts introduced the fork to fine American dining.
- In 1938 a new Federal law was put into action promising workers across the nation a minimum wage of 40 cents per hour.
- Just 13 short years later, in 1951, the first color beer commercial aired on TV.

But that's not all: this Friday marks the acclaimed Aspen Food & Wine Classic, which we're so excited to be returning to this year.

From Dr Pepper to pork to Philly cheesesteaks, this week's noteworthy nibbles seem to pay homage to time-honored American food traditions. We can't wait for the first ever Great American Food & Music Fest in Silicon Valley, which will feature guests like Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri, as well as famous regional specialties from all across the United States. Know of anything we've left off the list?
